Huge Energy Needs In US: Data Centers

Tesla Energy is going to become more important as the years roll by.

In this video I discuss the forecast that the energy needs for data centers in the US will equate to about 155 million EVs. This is only dealing with one country, leaving aside the fact China, Japan, and the EU face similar circumstances. Here is where Tesla Energy really stands to benefit.

I buy solar panels and batteries when I can. It's actually one of my top investments. I am fortunate enough to have the land to set up a significant sized solar array, so I am looking into a modified setup where I am feeding some into the grid with a grid tie inverter that would offset some of my machine usage, then have another complete off grid setup that will have a battery array that will store what it doesn't use. I am actually planning small modular units that I can move around to power greenhouses, etc. But again, I am fortunate enough to have the place to do it. If anything people need to collect as many battery packs as they can. I buy that instead of silver or gold.

If you can produce your own power, you should look into GPUs and renting them for AI usage. Being that they aren't profitable for crypto mining anymore after Ethereum went to PoS, it could be a good way for hardware junkies to get their fix and get paid. Offsetting the power costs with your own solar rigs is a great way to make it more profitable.

All good thoughts. Yes having the space is needed. Most only have their rooftop which tends not to generate enough power to cover everything. With enough land, that can be overcome.

Any idea of a coin that could be profitable to mine with just CPU or some type of mining pool?

Monero is my favorite, but there are others like ZEPH which is a privacy stablecoin protocol (don't know much about it), and Wownero (basically a meme fork of Monero).

No worries! I still feel like CPU based mining is the most decentralized form of mining. Hell, I know I can't afford any ASICs, unless they are like 2018 models, lol, which can still hash and be ran on some alternative power... Just saying...

Yeah. It was a suggestion that I threw at Khal to see if there might be a way to get a bit of that going to pull in some outside revenue.

Could be a minor revenue stream while it is there.

It's not incredibly profitable right now, that is why I offset with the solar. One thing they could do is fire up a Hive-Engine witness and support the side chain that their token and community is built on. I am sure they would garner enough votes to get into the top 20 and earn some BEE tokens. That's actually one thing that I have never understood about the LEO project. Why do they not try to support the chain their token runs on??? And it runs on Hive Engine, not Hive directly.

This is true, but really anything can help. Even enough to offset the cost of running a gaming rig on Nicehash or something. Using a grid tie inverter, you don't need batteries, you just plug the panels into the inverter, then a cord goes from the inverter to the wall and feeds the system. Can also be a backup in an outage and maybe help run a refrigerator, modem/routers, etc. It's also a good idea for anyone to pick up at least a 300W solar generator that can also be charged by a regular power adaptor. This is handy in case of an outage so you can charge phones, tablets, laptops, or use for lights, etc. It's fun to have some things running when everyone else around you is out, haha.

Oh for sure. Some small wind generators would also be handy in your case. I had some plans to suit up the house in the Keys until Mom decided she wanted to put it up on the market at the worst time possible...But that's another story for another time...

Well I live in an apartment so I am stuck paying FPL. The one advantage is I do get my power from a nuke plant. That is how most of the east coast is powered from FPL.

With the rising needs for energy, I wonder if more nuclear powerplants are better. Solar is good for households and buildings, but solar and wind farms take up a lot of area. It is also arguable that nuclear is still the cleanest option available.

A very slow process to get approved and built, like 10 years. Plus it is politically controversial something that only slows the process down.
