Emotions You Feel While Investing

I remember when I was a noob to investing, my first investing act was gambling and I can pretty much say that the emotions in gambling and real utility investments are the same. The only difference is the intensity of these emotions, they are different at least to my understanding and experience. You do know that some people consider gambling an investment, because you put money hoping to make more money in return. So in a way, you can call it investment, just that the risk is way higher. But no matter what investment you are doing, there are 4 emotions that usually creep you that you have to feel.

We have the hopeful feeling, this feeling is when you anticipate and hope for the best. No matter what investment decision you take, either gambling or real utility investment. Everybody invests hoping their investment works so that they can win, you don’t invest hoping to lose even when you do that it’s on rare occasion. You bought Hive because you are hoping it will skyrocket to a very good high value price, aside the fact that we believe the technology and the its future. The price is one of the reasons lots of us are invested in Hive.

Another feeling that creeps in to you when you are investing is Greed, the feeling of wanting more. We are all guilty of this feeling as humans, we always want more, more money, more food, more houses, more material things. We always want more of all the good things, so when investing, we want more of that money, this makes us want to invest more. More risks, more rewards right. That is how people risk what they can not afford to lose and then get rekt after.

Fear & Doubt these feelings are very common, first you are sure of what you want to do, the decision you want to make, then suddenly fear and doubt creep in. You start getting scared and doubting what you are about to do. You start thinking of the possible ways you could fail. Sometimes this will make you end up not investing, but then, you have to figure a way out to overcome those feelings.

The funny part of investment is that when we have high rate of return we don't consider fear to be an option anymore but trust. You've said right thanks for sharing, do have a lovely weekend.

You just helped me put what I had in mind in words. You are so right, there comes a time in investment we don’t feel fear anymore because we trust it. Thanks for this

I guess there's a thin line between gambling and investing. For me, Fear & Doubt is the most prevalent when investing. The uncertainty of what the future value of the investment will be. The best we could do is gather as much of the data to determine the safest bet.
