4-day workweek in Iceland has boosted the economy
Work less for equal pay
Between 2020 and 2022 51 % of Icelandic workers chose to start with a 4-day workweek without loss of pay. An unseen experiment that has turned out incredibly well. Workers say that they have more time for hobbies and family and have a better balance between work and life.
Economically the result for Iceland has been unexpectedly good. In 2023 the economy grew with 5 %, despite half of the work force working less for equal pay. That means that productivity has gone up and worker contentment too!
For next year an economic growth of 2,4 % is predicted!
It seems counterintuitive but in reality it has brought benefits for employers and employees!
Sincerely,

Sounds good! 🇮🇸👍🏻
Will they make it more than an experiment?
It’s far past that!
