The CAP-less Capacity To THREAD.
So one thing I can say is, that I like the concept of rebranding #PROJECTBLANK into #LEOTHREADS, I guess rebranding is an important aspect of advertising and merchandising. The former seems mysterious while the latter is self-explanatory. Which is, building microblogging on Leofinance, via the Hive blockchain. I think it kind of creates a certain curiosity to know how microblogging will work on web3, seeing how it has worked on web2 with Twitter.
I mean, when you look at some of the biggest apps on web2 you'd find out that they're even adding more options for shorter content and this shows that the concept of content creating is being redefined. I think this is because back in the days the concept of blogging had to do with decent lengthy paragraphs but with the sophisticated format of commercialization of content created on the internet, people have developed shorter spans for viewing and creating content.
Now, this isn't to say, web3 applications should totally mirror everything that's made web2 apps to be successful, but I think recreating some specific aspects would help people to smoothly transition from the apps they used to be familiar with to the same app but to a better web version. Now I personally feel that Leofinance is taking a big leap with leothreads, because basically, this form of content is about creating a series of treads that could pass off as posts, with the prospect of monetization as well.
It's safe to say that because of the traditional expectations of what content seems like, there's been a certain yardstick to measure what's a quality content and what isn't, and this probably creates a certain limit. I don't know how leothreads will turn out to be, but it's important to note that it's a creative way to build another entry point. We've had different formats of entry-point to Hive, but we have not seen microblogging.
This is how I'm curious as to how this would pan out, of course, we've had a roadmap of how this is supposed to work, but this is quite different from how it'll turn out. One important thing is that microblogging creates a sort of inclusiveness, this is its biggest selling point, we're going to be seeing some of the best short forms of threads, and we'd probably see some of them trend, due to the value, importance, and informativeness of some of these threads.
In Conclusion
Another thing is that people will get to learn quicker, assimilate more information and recreate a response very quickly without having to write lengthy posts. I guess this is why there's a cap or limits to the characters that can be used on leothreads. If this turns out well over time, it's going to be a win-win-win, how do I mean? It'll be beneficial to hive, to Leo as well as to people who are threading, constantly without a limit to how much they can say.
This doesn't mean there wouldn't be downsides, I actually feel there will be a lot of downsides, especially expressing how resource credits will be significant, but then, it creates an inevitability to owning Hive power especially if we have other non-hive users coming in

Actually people today associate more with shorter content. There is a lot of activity going on in people's lives that the reading culture has gone down. People are interested in short content and that means the writer has to be straight to the point.
That's true, but we still have people who wants to read, I just think as also have to accomodate people who wants to create shorter contents as well. I think it's a bold move for the blockchain at large
True even the music industry's these days, if after 10 secs you be not started making sense . It will be skipped..
Short content post and all has come to stay, makes assimilating faster and also favours attention span issues being shorter already..
Well you are right tho. Everything has its ups and downs apparently but I think this leothread will be so beneficial to everyone. Let's hope it comes on time

Well, I hope the traditional hiveans will be able to see short form content as quality.
I like the idea of dropping a punchline and moving on.
With DBUZZ the reward cap was limited to $1. I feel that leothreads just wants to do one better than dbuzz.

Resource credits should only affect the new users so I am not as worried. I am wondering if the team has a way to figure out how to keep the new users who join. At the same time, I wonder if this will be Desktop only. Short-form content seems to be better on an application so people can use their phone.

I'm only a few weeks old in Hive time, but I've heard and read rumors already that an app is a strong possibility based on how this goes. So I guess I better get over my shyness and start commenting more-- I only see good things ahead with this turn for the Hiveverse!
This is true about resource credits, however, I'm left wondering. I want to see how unlimitedness towards creating and engagement, the long-term impact on RC, maybe more people will now seek for more RC?

I think options are good to have so microblogging will have it's place alongside longer form. It's interesting that Twitter is currently adding long form notes to their platform and have had threads for some time which many made use of.

it's in testing with a group of OGs... Twitter has an odd way of rolling stuff out. Here there's testnet and then everyone gets a crack at it. OVer there, features get rolled out piecemeal. They seem to start with the US and take forever to get to others.
The aspect of resource credits really got me thinking.. hm more activity, more rc and so more HP.. nice one.

I guess they want to put out something while utility goes on. And then upgrades will be made available. It is good.
I agree that threads is definitely a reaction to where the world is going: Twitter, Instagram, TikTok and YouTube Shorts point the way towards shorter attention spans and shorter media posts. This also goes hand in hand with the world going mobile. Leofinance is well placed to tide this wave with LeoMobile and LeoThreads.

I'm excited by what we have seen just on day 1.
This is a long way from the finished product but if they can build on the concept then there will be a lot of room to grow and bring in new users for short form content.
