Make Patience Great Again

Talk to anyone who knows a bit of economics and history and everyone will agree that we're richer now than we have been at any point in the history of human civilization, on average at least. Yet despite the immense wealth and increase in living standards that have occurred over the last two decades there seems to be a rapidly growing discontent and disillusionment of the financial order particularly among the younger generation (millenias and below).

At every point in human history there have always been those who were too impatient to move along with everyone else and opted for faster pathways to amassing wealth, power and other things they wanted. Greed of course plays a major role in impacting those decisions and promoting impatience. Yet these days the problem I believe goes beyond greed, but has to do with defects in the system we operate (a reminder that capitalism isn't perfect, even no no other system in existence comes close for now).

The system promotes impatience with the onslaught of media glamour in an increasingly digitized society. Young folks who go through various media platforms are more likely to be influenced by what they see and how wealth and affluence is worshipped. If you can covet all the attention and respect from people just by being wealthy then others will want that for themselves too. After all the biggest fear we humans have outside death is that of being socially ostracized. If we can find ways to be more accepted we'd likely take it.

Patience is no longer a virtue in Today's World. It seems too expensive to be. I mean seeing the way changes happen so fast makes those few who still practice the art seem foolish at times. Take for instance the rollercoaster that has been crypto prices. An extended bear run can make us feel downcast over not cashing out during the bulls, even though the intention was always to build with those assets to something of value. Society too doesn't seem to have much value for patience. The things we celebrate most are things that move fast and give us quick, easy dopamine hits or solutions at the expense of a better, more durable path.

Conclusion

I thought about this trend with respect to everything else besides Hive if you'd believe it. We Hivers are incredibly patient (even though the platform has also largely been a blessing). I don't know how the satisfaction that comes from quick wealth feels because I have never been there. What I would say though is that the value of patience on the pathway to accomplishment leaves no greater satisfaction.

I agree to you opinion where patience is no longer respected. I will not blame any of the parties involved because the society has denied them rights to thier wealth. My final suggestions is that , it is better to be patient and work hard rather than find short means to wealth which will later backfire to death.

Being on Hive since 2017 I have learned to appreciate steady growth which always provides instead of hype and disappointment. Thus I have no problem being patient and wait for the market to turn around.

Hive is definitely a great place to practice patience while also getting accustomed to a steady growth path. It seems delusional to want everything to happen fast no matter the cost one will incur to make it happen. Patience is a virtue that many are lacking in the modern world.
