Who of us has not experienced this. You need an image for an article, but you don't want to or can't pay for the rights.
In any case, I often turn to Pixabay to download an image for free use.
What if I could draw them myself?
With tablets, that's not really a problem. However, when it comes to a specific motto, it becomes more difficult. You have to create a backdrop with more or less effort to match the theme of the contribution.
I have a Wacoom tablet on which I could actually draw anything with a pen, but I don't really have the talent.

However, since the beginning of the year there has been a then rather small company that has developed software to solve exactly such problems.

The software is called DALL-E.
It creates an image from words or sentences, which is not loaded directly from the internet, but is drawn completely independently. The user has the rights to this image. For commercial use as well. At least that is the current status.

Until September, you could sign up for a waiting list to use this tool. Since October, however, it has been possible for anyone to register and try out the software.

That's what I've done now. Here are a few results.

I looked through a few other collections and quickly realised that you shouldn't just enter words, but what you actually want.

Next try:

The result is starting to look right. This picture is unique and I can use it for whatever I want.

There's more to it than that. My girlfriend is a fan of Andy Warhol. Let's see what the AI can do with it.

Now I'm on the right track after all.

I wonder what it does to other personalities.

And each image took me 5 seconds to create. Fantastic. This takes me to a new level when it comes to choosing pictures.

However, there is a small hitch.

After testing so blithely, I got the info from a friend that at my rate, the credits will soon be gone.
What credits?
Then I read through the FAQs.
You get 50 credits when you start. That means you have to create 50 pictures.
Once a month, 15 credits are credited for free, but the old ones are deleted. You can't take them with you.
So you can have your pictures taken 15 times a month.
Of course, there is the possibility to buy some. But they are very expensive.
115 for 15 dollars. Only payable in fiat.

Nothing is free in this world.
But let's be honest, 15 free per month is already a lot for free.
I just have to concentrate more on the right keywords or sentences, and then it works.

Wer kennt das von uns nicht. Man benötigt ein Bild für einen Beitrag, aber die Rechte dafür will oder kann man nicht bezahlen.
Ich jedenfalls greife dann oft auf Pixabay zu, um mir dort ein Bild zur freien Nutzung downzuloaden.
Was wäre, wenn ich die selber zeichnen könnte?
Mit den Tablet ist das ja eigentlich kein Problem. Allerdings, wenn es um ein bestimmtes Motto geht, wird das schon schwieriger. Man muss dann schon mit mehr oder weniger Aufwand, eine Kulisse erschaffen, um das Thema des Beitrages zu treffen.
Ich habe ein Wacoom Tablet, auf dem ich mit einem Stift eigentlich alles zeichnen könnte, aber wirkliches Talent dazu habe ich nicht.

Es gibt aber seit Anfang des Jahres eine damals eher kleine Firma, die eine Software entwickelt hat, um genau solche Probleme zu lösen.

Die Software heißt DALL-E.
Sie erstellt aus Begriffen oder Sätzen, ein Bild, welches nicht direkt aus dem Internet geladen wird, sondern vollkommen selbstständig gezeichnet wurde. Die Rechte über dieses Bild, hat der User. Auch für kommerzielle Nutzung. Zumindest ist das der heutige Stand.

Bis September, konnte man sich in eine Warteliste eintragen, um dieses Tool zu nutzen. Seit Oktober ist es aber jedem möglich, sich anzummelden und die Software auszuprobieren.

Das habe ich jetzt mal gemacht. Hier sind ein paar Ergebnisse.

Da geht doch noch mehr. Meine Freundin ist Fan von Andy Warhol. Mal sehen, was die AI damit Anfangen kann.

Allerdings gibt es einen kleinen Hacken.

Nachdem ich so munter vor mich hin getestet habe, bekam ich von einem Freund die Info, dass bei meinem Tempo bald die Credits weg sind.
Welche Credits?
Dann habe ich mir erstmal die FAQs durchgelesen.
Man bekommt beim Start 50 Credits. Das bedeutet, 50 mal Bilder erstellen.
Einmal im Monat werden dann 15 Credits umsonst gutgeschrieben, allerdings werden die alten gelöscht. Die kann man nicht mitnehmen.
Man hat also 15 mal im Monat die Möglichkeit sich Bilder erstellen zu lassen.
Natürlich gibt es die Möglichkeit welche zu kaufen. Die sind allerdings schon sehr teuer.
115 für 15 Dollar. Nur in Fiat zu zahlen.

Nichts ist halt umsonst auf dieser Welt.
Aber mal ehrlich, 15 frei im Monat ist schon reichlich viel für umsonst.
Ich muss mich einfach mehr auf die richtigen Schlagwörter oder Sätze konzentrieren, und dann läuft das schon.
