Building my own content discovery tool: Work in progress
This is going to be a flex! :)
I spent this Sunday afternoon getting back to some Hive data extraction using Python.
I had wanted to build something like my own content discovery for some time. I find the current content discovery solution too blunt for my liking.
So to do that, I will need data directly from the Hive blockchain.
At this stage, I am able to download the records comprising original posts according to block numbers. A good start!
I am pretty happy with the progress so far, as the picture below shows.
What do I plan to do? I am planning to comb through 7 days of posts, and pick out posts that are likely worth reading in terms of topics of my interest. For that, I would have to try some text-mining magic.
I believe that there are many Hivers who are writing posts that I had been missing out. Having my own depository of posts would be great for accessing them!

My idea that I've mentioned several times in random places is for a "random post searcher"that would give you a certain amount of random topics to look through(say 20 or 50 different tags to work with at a time, then you can click refresh for a new generation of tags until you find one you like)
It would kind of be like that old website, stumble upon, allowing one to discover random new accounts that post on topics that interest them (or perhaps have favorite topics appear in ones feed without having to follow the accounts or community)
Just something I've been trying to share, I have zero developing skills, just some good ideas 😉 I haven't checked out veews since it first dropped, but I feel like it was the opposite style, giving you one full post instead of a bunch of random topics, which is easier to sift through

That would be amazing, if your tool can scan all the post and gives you only what want to read. Just keep on working. you are your track to create on great tool
That is a nice idea. Would that be better than veews? I know it's only 7 days right now but I guess the machine learning algorithm might not be the best right now.
