Weekly Hive Savings Update - 02/12/2024
Hello Hive Community!
I’m happy to report that I’m back in a regular posting rhythm and trying to stay as active as possible. While I’m not yet managing to reply to all comments, I’m working on balancing everything. In addition to posting, I’ve been dedicating time to behind-the-scenes development of the Indeed, Weird, Hope, and The Strider bots. While no major updates have rolled out yet, there’s progress being made, and I hope to have some exciting news soon!
My Hive Goals

I’m thrilled to report that I’ve not only reached my Hive Power goal but surpassed it by 100 HP! This marks a significant milestone on my journey, and I’m excited to see how far I can continue to grow.

- Current HBD Saved: 1221 HBD
- To Go: 279 HBD
My HBD savings are steadily increasing, with an increase from 1217 HBD to 1221 HBD over the past week. While there’s still some distance to cover to reach the 1500 HBD goal, I’m making steady progress.

Recent Activities
- Back to Regular Posting: I’m posting consistently again, which has been great for re-engaging with the community and staying on track with my goals.
- Bot Development (Behind the Scenes): A lot of my focus has been on the development and stabilization of the Indeed, Weird, Hope, and The Strider bots. While there aren’t any noticeable updates yet, progress is happening behind the scenes, and I’m optimistic about what’s to come.
- Gradual Growth: With consistent activity and power-ups, I’ve managed to surpass my Hive Power goal and keep my HBD savings on an upward trajectory.
Next Steps
- Push Toward HBD Goal: With 279 HBD to go, I’ll focus on increasing my HBD savings while maintaining my current Hive Power level.
- Bot Updates: Continue working on the bots to ensure stability and prepare for future updates that I can share with the community.
- Engage More: While I’ve resumed posting, I’d like to work on responding to comments and interacting more consistently with the Hive community.

I think the decision was made to prevent people from using HBD & the hive blockchain as nothing but a well-earning savings-account, while contributing nothing to the community or the blockchain itself.
There is some value in that argument, but on the other hand, it does bring in new people to hive, and if maybe only 5% of those new people are active, it is better than 0 new people…
In any case, the 1 million HP would definitely be super :-D
I did some quick thinking, if you have 1 million HP, and you upvote someone’s post in about 1/2 (or even more) of the non-western rich countries, they can live off of your single vote for at least a day. That’s how much good all this can bring…

Ah, yes, I see, and that does make sense. Too many people want to extract value without giving value. I'd still prefer it at 20%. There are witnesses that want it even lower, to 10%, or even 8%. We should look into the various implications and ramifications of the HBD APR before we get our witness up and running.
Damn straight 1 million HP would be super, holy moly yes! @borniet, that that is a big reason that my ultimate Hive goal is to become a millionaire whale 🐳 fairy 🧚♂️, sprikling goodness, in the form of large upvotes, all over the Blockchain! And indeed, setting the HBD APR is something to be considered when running a witness. At least, if you want to make an impact there. Another option is to set it to (automatically? Not sure) follow the average.

I had a hard drive failure on one of my Arch Linux installations not long ago, the last one I was using, and that document that I was writing was apparently lost, sadly. It was the MMB timeline if I recall. That sounds great to me! I'm happy to get things moving forward again! 😁 🙏 💚 ✨ 🤙

Tell me about it, and I'm sure! Me too! I have a backup hard drive for each of my three Arch installations, and whenever I made any notable changes, or if too much time passes, I clone them, and move on to the next. Unfortunately it died before I got a chance to clone it, so I used an older backup, that didn't have the document. I really need to clone my drives more frequently again. I've just been so busy...lol! Yes, I know that we'll get everything written down again, no doubt about that here either! 😁🙏💚✨🤙
