What's New At Hive Dec 11th

Even during this bear market I'm glad to see there's enough development and new things going on the hive blockchain that it makes it worth doing this weekly post. This article is going to go over all the new things (at least that I know of) that have been going on. This article focuses on front end changes, new apps etc and does not get into the nitty gritty really of any code changes. It's more of the high end things that every day users would enjoy and want to know about. Let's dive in.

Splinterlands

What would this post be if I didn't include Splinterlands. The number one application on the hive blockchain and continues to be a strong player. The game itself had a number of releases this week and some coming soon. I'm also going to drop GLX in the mix here as well since in a way they are both connected because of SPS.

New Airdropped Card Legendary Summoner Possibilus The Wise

This card was recently air dropped to those who have bought Chaos packs from the store. Personally I was able to pick up 3 of these myself meaning I have a good bit to go before I'm able to fully max this card. This card can now also be picked up from opening Chaos packs that are bought from the store.

A total of 275,000 Chaos packs have been burned already as part of the 25k packs burned per day until everything gets sold out.

GLX will soon be allowing the ability to stake packs from their game Genesis League Goals for GLX governance tokens. That is so far set to kick in on December 13th 2022. That this Tuesday.

LeoFinance

In terms of something to show you there's not much here yet. We did get a few more sneak peaks of the new UI and how the platform is going to look. Threads will be front and center now while articles will be on the back up and will have to be drilled down to. I'm curious if that's going to change the amount of articles and the amount of votes the platform gets and will be something I'll be tracking a long with a host of other things.

LPUD is coming this week on the 15th of the month which will have tons of great rewards again. This also might be the last time you can get Leo for "cheap" as the new UI along with a host of other features like paywalls, subscriptions and the new UI should be dropped.

My hopes are we see huge adoption of this platform even if it's a few thousand more users. But also a way to filter and drill down the content so I'm not bombarded with everyone's post on threads all the time. A basic filter or algo would go a long way into making threads a awesome platform people would want to be on.

Other Games

There's a number of games which look like they are in the final phase finally! That means Hive is going to get a slew of new crypto games on it's blockchain either a bit later this month or early 2023. This should bring in more adoption and use cases for hive and new people to the chain which will be really cool. My hopes are that the core devs of other applications cater to these a bit such as building a community front end for the game for people to share their battles, strats etc much like splinterlands did with SplinterTalk and the SPT token. I'd also like to see 3speak get in on this as well and offer up a platform for loading shorts of the game and also full videos of these games. I feel that platform is highly under utilized in a number of ways right now. One being there's no real focus on shorts and two there's no ad revenue in order for content creators to earn a "passiveish"s style income from their videos there which is a huge flaw in adoption in my opinion.

Overall there's a lot of soons at the moment but those soons might be turning into nows come next week or the week after which is going to have dramatic effects on the Hive blockchain and what the future will bring us.
