The First Ever Snowfall In Beijing

Greetings, My dear Hive Fellows.

Finally, the wait is over as Beijing had its first snow in the middle of March when the temperature increased significantly. In the morning, when I went to the office, there was no forecast, and during the launch break, I checked that there could be rain this afternoon. After the launch break, I went to my laboratory and worked until late afternoon, around 5:40. I didn't know about the incident when it was snowing, and also I had not seen the excitement with the snow among my colleagues and nearby people used to be in the winter snow days. So, I was completely shocked when I returned to my dormitory after 5:40 as I saw the surrounding grasslands had become white and covered with today's snow.

I love snowfall, but unfortunately, this year, there was no snowfall throughout the whole winter. I had many plans regarding the snowfall to travel to some beautiful locations, which I have missed this year as it is a completely dry year. But all of a sudden, today, we have snowfall in Beijing for the first time this winter. But it is a short snowfall and also the temperature is quite high, and most of the snow has melted already, so I can not fulfil those desires plans for this late snowfall; I hope next year I will have the chance to explore my desired natural views in the winter snow.

I thought there would be no snow this year as winter is almost over, and this week, the high temperature was 18 degrees Celsius. Also, the lowest temperature was not below the freezing temperature which is not a good time for snowing. So, at noon, when it was about to rain and slightly it was raining, I felt the water without any snowflakes as the high temperature will not make snowfall at this period of the year at high temperature. But later, it was a snowfall day as the temperature dropped to half that yesterday, leading the rainy day into a snowfall day.

And, with the relatively higher temperature, the snow has melted very fast on the streets almost instant, but there is a cover of snow in the grassland of the surrounding area. A sudden rain has also made the weather so clean and comfortable with great looks as nature has got the rain after a long time and the thick layer of snow in the surrounding area made views excellent. I have a wonderful walk around my institute on this snowfall day, which is a long-awaited day for the Beijing people.

In the late afternoon when I came out from my working place, I found the snow around me and the streets were completely wet as the temperature had risen at this time of March, the snow in many places melted very fast compared to the winter in December to February. I have gotten snow for the first time this winter most of the time, we get heavy snowfall in the month of February, which was a completely dry year for this winter. So, I have spent my afternoon in exploring the surrounding natural views.

Still, the weather was cloudy after the rain and snow, but the weather was extremely clear with excellent air quality. I have taken a lot of pictures in different corners of the institute. All the views here today have become so beautiful as after a long time this region got rain and snow. The green forestry area behind my institute became so attractive with the white ground.

I have touched the snow from the ground and I feel that this snow was itself very wet as the weather is not so cold now. When I put the snow on my palm, it became melted within seconds that reflects the warmer season now. But other time the feeling of the snow is different and stays longer on palm and also on the ground.
