A Walk in Nature, Leicester, UK
My most scenic walk across Leicester City recently, was from the Belgrave area via Abbey Park along the River Soar and onto the Leicester Clocktower.
Through the meadows, I continued along the picturesque foot and cycle paths, that lead to the River Soar.
The route along the River Soar, had fields of tall grass where groups sunbathed with beers, and the strong scent of marijuana emitted through the air, and everyone seemed to be enjoying the summer heat.
These pigeons looked down at me as if they were guarding the area and made me feel like I was out of bounds, before taking off in unison.
Maybe the birds were trying to tell me a message because as I carried on that path, I came to a halt at an unpassable area of deep mud.
I quickly made a U-turn and carried on past the Leicester Space Centre, an award-winning National Space Centre.
Some close-up shots
I'm yet to have a tour of the Space Centre, but for the time being, I'm just using my imagination.
Street scenes leading to Abbey Park
Abbey Park is one of Leicester's top parks, and my love for nature made it an irresistible spot on my agenda.
A Chinese Garden on the grounds
Photo Compilation of the Park
The late afternoon sun was a chance for me to get some contrasting blues and greens, which made these photos pretty as postcards.
A park would be incomplete without flowers, and I thought these white ones were pretty and delicate, and they were soft to the touch.
I slowly meandered through the park and took the time to appreciate all the beauty of the area.
I'm always drawn to water, and there were ducks and swans, who quickly swam over to greet me.
I love waterfowl, and it made me miss life on the canals.
I was serenaded by a melodious and calming wind chime in the background, and I sat there for a few minutes of meditation, before wandering off to capture more photos.
Aren't these views just so pleasing?
Quite a neat arrangement of flowers here.
and more
There were totem poles with creatures that I'm not fond of, but I managed to capture these photos.
More street scenes leading to Leicester City Centre
Leicester is a multicultural urban city, with lots of street art around, although I only captured these two under a bridge nearing the town.
Leicester Clock Tower where the streets are pedestrianised.
This walk was fulfilling like a proper excursion and tour of the city. I love that there are vast areas of nature with pedestrian access, that leads to the city centre and shops.
I hope you've enjoyed my photo compilation. It was a lovely scenic walk, albeit longer than the walking route along the main roads.
All images belong to me.

A lot of feathered friends in this place..
The photo with an array of pigeons is cute though.. They truly look like guardians of the place, lol.
The serenity of the place makes my eyes relax as well while looking at them..and that mural under the bridge post is amazing!
I like that 😊
Thank you. Yes, it's always nice to see feathered friends and observe their communication with each other.
Leicester has many murals and there's an entire area known for it's street art, but I didn't make it to that side of the town this trip:)))

really beautiful pictures
Thanks, I'm happy that you like them 😊
Maybe the guardian birds were actually trying to warn you, haha. Those contrasting blue and greens just warms the eyes you know. And then the photo of the space center from afar made me think of a gigantic alien lava. The murals are beautiful and also made me remember the Rio cartoon I watched once that was about beautiful urban birds.
Hehe! You're spot on with all your points. It's a beautiful area, and it was great to explore that side of Leicester and take different routes to the town.
Thanks for stopping by. Have a lovely day:)))
You're welcome. It was such a pleasure reading.🤗
😊
That first shot is insane ~ what a cool sky! I love it. The photo of the totem poles, also. I don't see a lot of those, so that's pretty cool. They do have something ominous about them, though. Sounds like you had a good time :)
Thank you, yes it was a lovely walk 😊
Haha! I'm surprised I managed to take photos of that one with the snake wrapped around it.
I visit the area before and wrote a post about it a few years back. In it, you can see some lovely totem poles on the grounds, and closer shots of the Space Centre. Then I went with a friend and I explored more of the park.

Thanks for your lovely comment.
Yeah, the entire area is filled with a lot of history and it's a great place to reconnect and charge.
Have a lovely day:)))
Wow a beautiful walk you had. Love the first reflection photo 😍 I've been to other Europe locations but never to the UK maybe someday :)
What an amazing walk, everything in the path was beautiful, from store to the city. Really beautiful photos. I could almost breathe the clean air 😌
😊🤗 Wow! Thank you. I'm pleased that you felt all that:)))
Have a lovely day 💐
That space center building is pretty cool looking. Very futuristic - like the dome buildings we were supposed to be living in on the moon.
Hehe!
I had an Aussie friend when I was living in the Philippines. He was full of amazing ideas. I remember one evening we sat to watch the sunset, with some coconut rum, and he presented his brilliant idea about buying a plot of land on the moon... I was lost for words and just kept drinking 🙃
Haha I've heard of companies selling plots of moon land. Seems like a scam to me lol
Hehe! The idea just sounds like something I would come up with after drinking a bottle of wine 😆
Nice collection of photographs!
You gotta get @scubahead back in the posting groove! Tell em I said so...lol
Hehe! Thank you 😊
I told scuba just now. It's been tough on him because he works the night shift. I just got home and saw that he's up already and he said he'll try to post something before he heads off to work. He appreciates the shoutout:)))
Thanks for pokin him!
Duly noted ;). Just posted. I really fell into a void there

The pictures are fabulous, they are all beautiful but I loved the ducks on the lake 😍😍 I have no doubt you felt refreshed after contemplating so much beauty. I'm glad you are leading your life hand in hand with nature.
A strong hug 💞😘
PS: for the next one keep in mind the messages of the birds 😉
Hehe! Yes, I'll listen to the birds next time:)))
