Exploring Churdhar : Trails, Tails and Triumphs
Hey wonderful readers Get ready to explore the breathtaking landscapes of Churdhar with me.
Shimla
Our adventure began in Shimla where the crisp mountain air filled our lungs with excitement. After hours of navigating we finally reached chopal a serene village nested amidst the hill. On the way to chopal we traversed a dense forest where sunlight danced through the trees
Chopal
Arriving at the gate it was almost 12km more to the village Sarahan from where our trek was going to begin. It took us 45 min to reach Sarahan . It was a bustling spot the last market before the wilderness. We stocked up on essentials, snacks and water. With supplies in hand we felt ready to embrace the journey into natures embrace.
After packing our bags we set off on our trek hearts racing with anticipation. The path ahead wound through lush greenery, birds chirping above us. Together we embraced the journey eager to uncover the beauty that lay ahead.
The trek was filled with laughter and fun activities each moment a new adventure.
We played games and shared stories but the miles took their toll leaving us pleasantly tired. But the stunning beauty of the landscape and towering trees kept our spirit high and heart content.
As hunger struck we spotted a food joint along the trail. The aroma of the steaming maggie wafted through the air drawing us in. We gathered around the table savouring the delicious maggie. Each bite was a warm comfort refuelin us for the adventure still ahead.
Refueled and energized we faced another stunning trail ahead. This one was steep challenging our endurance as we climbed higher. The breathtaking views unfolded with each step reminding us why we embarked on this journey. The beauty of nature pushed us onward despite the demanding ascent.
Day was about to end we gathered firewood and chose a cozy place for our campsite. We set up our tents exited for the trek ahed in the morning.
Kala Bagh
As the sun rose casting a golden glow we began our trek with renewed energy. Just 3 kilometers remained and the views were breathtaking mountains stretched endlessly, valleys deepened below and the crisp air filled us with exhilaration. Adventure awaited us ahead.
We found a charming food joint where we had our breakfast and tea. With every sip and bite Excitement bubbled within us preparing us for the final push to the top.
Reaching the high point we found ourselves above the treeline surrounded by open skies. The path was stunning, offering breathtaking views but the air felt thin reminding us of nature’s power.
After hours of walking we finally reached the temple of Shirgul Maharaj. The serene atmosphere and sacred presence filled us with piece. We took darshan of the Shirgul Mahraj and started walking to the top .
We could now see the top It was too steep. But the breathtaking view from the top made every effort worthwhile filling us with admiration for natures beauty.
There is a story behind this that when the rakshas came in Shirgul Maharaj absence planning to destroy his family Lord Shiva incarnated to protect them. Shiva killed the rakshas and turned him into a statue ensuring Shirgul’s family safety on the mountaintop.
This was the place where Lord Shiva incarnated and killed rakshas from here. It was the highest peak in the area offering a panoramic vista of the surrounding landscape.
Hope you liked it and felt the spirit of the journey.
