Maine Oceanside Enjoyment
Hi fellow Travelers,
Today I wanted to share some beautiful coastline of Maine!
Maine Oceanside Enjoyment
When we go out on our weekend trips, one thing is for sure we are always looking for some beautiful places to see! I know that we are incredibly lucky to live in an area where there is so much to see but it's pretty cool to think of just how much there is to get out there and see when you think about it!
Maine is by far one of our favorite places to go. We don't live too far from there and that makes it incredibly easy to drive up there for the day and go exploring or have fun at the beach. On this recent trip, we checked out Ogunquit Maine which is a coastal town between the more popular York and the famous Portland Maine. It's beautiful in it's own right!
Maine has some of the longest and most available coastlines in the country which is pretty awesome to see and say! The coastline is jagged and one hell of a rocky one! This makes for all kinds of fun adventures for things like crab hunting but it also produces some beautiful and awesome scenery like this!
Ogunquit is one of the quintessential New England towns. It's got such a cool look to it, with the homes dotting the coastline there and all kinds of ocean related businesses. It's bustling with people walking around the area, checking out the shops and grabbing bites to eat. The things that we should normally be doing more often if the damn gas prices would come down! Lol
It's also got these crazy trees! I think this is a cedar tree but man it's wild. This one is obviously incredibly old and I really loved the gnarled look to it. Gave it such unique qualities!
My favorite part of our adventures though, is to be able to do them with not only the little man but with my wife as well! When the little man and I go fishing or some of the other outdoor things, my wife doesn't tag along due to some other things like allergies and all that. Not when it comes to hitting the ocean! She's all there along with us and I think that's awesome. Really makes the times together special so we can all share it instead of getting some photos later on from one or the other of us with the little man.
The coastline was also dotted with all kinds of wildlife! We didn't get the picture of it quickly enough but there was a harbor seal poking it's head above the water here and there! That was really cool to see and we even got it fast enough to show the little man and he was stoked, so that was a total win for us! The seal didn't stick around for long as it kept popping up after eating some snacks under the water. One thing that means though, is where there are seals there are sharks!
The people in the area are a little oblivious to the fact that when the seal populations rebound, so doesn't the other half of the equation: the sharks! Lol. We read stories all the time of sharks being spotted off the coast of such and such area and people are annoyed by it. Well if the seals come back, so do the predators meant to keep their populations in check. Balance!
The end of the day here was quite nice. We ended up going on a lobster tour that I posted about in another post, so we had a lot of fun in Ogunquit and ate some nice lunch before we called it a day and headed back home. Overall quite the nice day as always spent in Maine!

What a day!! Maine is such a beautiful and peaceful place to spend quality time with your family :) Maine is a beautiful place to spend quality time with your family. The wild cedar tree, the seals, and the coastline are all perfect for enjoying nature together. :)
Thank you! I know, we have certainly come to really enjoy and appreciate Maine over the years that's for sure. We've loved it for a long time but not as much as we do now. We are hoping to one day own a small vacation spot somewhere here, since we travel here so often! Plus the food and farms are incredible lol
What a cool and amazing cedar tree - I'll bet that's seen some stories come and go!!
Maine & New England is one small part of the US that I'd like to visit. Gotta honestly say I could take or leave the US in general, but there are a few spots that pique my interest, and Maine/NE is one of them.
One day...
Oh for sure! Who knows how many things that tree has seen and survived. It's certainly been there since the World Wars, I reckon! Remarkable to think about for sure. Some trees out there such as the Redwood trees in California have been around since the Crusades I think, that's insane!
The US is certainly an incredible place, it has it's issues for sure but there is so much wonder here we are really coming to appreciate, enjoy and understand it. Maine is one of our favorites by far! We are hoping to one day own a small piece of something here so we can vacation here without having to drive super far. One day!
If you do end up visiting Maine, I hope we are still here on the blockchain that's for sure! I'd love to show you and your daughter if she comes, around!
