Walk from Sacha, a street with a lot of style 📷 Málaga - Spain

There are streets that have a style of their own and stand out from the rest. There is simply too much beauty and history.

20240828_150804.jpg

Walk from Sacha is a large avenue that continues from Walk Reding and Avenue Príes and connects the city centre to the eastern part of the city.

As it is the main thoroughfare for the neighbourhoods in this area, it has a very busy traffic and several bus lines also pass through it.

Approximately on my tour I calculated that it will be between 700 and 800 metres long.

Walking towards the east, on the left hand side you can see many buildings, but they are elevated above the ground, as there is a mountain called Mount Sacha, from which the name of the promenade derives.

20240828_150954.jpg

20240828_150950.jpg

On the right hand side you can also see various buildings, restaurants and very touristy places, considering that less than 200 metres away is the beach. In this case the beach called La Caleta.

The constructions, buildings and places that I could see there have a particular style, perhaps because in its origin, back in the middle of the XIX century, there were constructions for houses, but with a colonial villa style and that marked later that it was a particular neighbourhood.

When I start the walk I see this beautiful house or building, many of the original dwellings seem to have been renovated for different uses, beyond family housing.

The gardens, flowers, decorations and a lot of architectural style stand out, with a beauty that for me is unique.

You can tell that they were buildings that previously had those colonial galleries, with an Andalusian patio that I love, and with lots of plants and flowers. It is the ideal home for me.

20240828_151038.jpg

As soon as I start the tour I come across an old water fountain that is not working at the moment, but its beauty is incomparable and it is also very old.

It is called Reding Fountain, although it is located in Paseo de Sacha and dates back to the 17th century. It is built in marble and as I approached it I could see inscriptions on it, about its history, and decorations adorning the fish that serves as a fountain.

I love this kind of fountains with so much history and beauty.

20240828_151254.jpg

20240828_151307.jpg

Following the path, a large wall with plants, vegetation and flowers indicates that there is a rise in the land.

20240828_151342.jpg

But that is not what most caught my attention but the houses or rather mansions that are in that place, well sheltered, protected and with those beautiful gardens.

20240828_151441.jpg

20240828_151447.jpg

Further on, I came across the Hotel California, of an unremarkable green colour. Next to it a day hospital, I had never seen one before.

20240828_151516.jpg

Between some of the buildings I noticed that there was a thin staircase, as if it ended at infinity, I couldn't see where it ended, very interesting.

20240828_151548.jpg

20240828_151552.jpg

At other times, for example, there was a pharmacy, and above it there is a building with an old and modern style at the same time, where you could see the maintenance of it. An unusual architecture.

If I looked down the street I was walking on, but very close to me and bordering the beach, there are very modern buildings with bright colours.

20240828_151614.jpg

It was a very humid day and the sun was strong on a street where there is practically no shade.

20240828_151609.jpg

20240828_151650.jpg

20240828_151640.jpg

However, these buildings, although modern, have gardens with lots of vegetation and flowers.

There is a sort of contrast between one side of the avenue and the other. An older side and a more modern side.

20240828_151733.jpg

20240828_151746.jpg

And following in this line, the Hotel Las Vegas appeared before me, with a lot of glass area.

20240828_151712.jpg

20240828_151724.jpg

But right in front of this hotel and in contradiction to the modern architecture, there was this striking building.

It is, at least in the lower part, a training centre called Avilés y Román. You can see the Arab influence in its architecture and also its history and antiquity.

Looking up, I see a green hedge and plants and above it a tower.

20240828_151755.jpg

I tried to move forward to see this architecture from different angles and admire it.

20240828_151812.jpg

Another ancient entrance to the building where next to it there is a small street leading up to Mount Sacha and the neighbourhoods on it.

20240828_151823.jpg

20240828_151855.jpg

I got as close as I could to capture all this beauty of art, I was very surprised.

And not only that, between this building and the next one there was another one of those very tall staircases. I promised myself one day to investigate what is at the end of them. It is an area of the city I have never seen before.

20240828_151844.jpg

20240828_151852.jpg

20240828_151826.jpg

20240828_151925.jpg

You can see how the narrow street I was mentioning rises, but of course this doesn't take away from the fact that there are still wonderful things to see like this building, I think it is the one I liked the most of all on this tour.

Every angle I captured was beautiful and showed a great facet of its amazing architecture.

20240828_151953.jpg

20240828_152026.jpg

I kept walking and lower buildings appeared, not all of them are two or three storeys, but there are single storeys and not all of them are excellently maintained.

20240828_152115.jpg

There is also a mix of old and modern and government buildings.

20240828_152123.jpg

In this one I liked the large windows, balconies and railings.

20240828_152210.jpg

And this building belongs to a nursery school called Gibralfaro like the castle.

20240828_152248.jpg

20240828_152327.jpg

20240828_152353.jpg

20240828_152357.jpg

Houses in different scales and heights that amaze the eye, even to the end of the Paseo de Sacha.

This walk borders the neighbourhood of El Limonar, but that will be an odyssey for another day.

20240828_152636.jpg

20240828_152650.jpg

20240828_152710.jpg

I crossed the street on my way back and saw four buildings that were in some ways very similar, old and in mixed styles, as well as very well maintained.

They were next to each other and some of them are now dedicated to health clinics where specific studies are carried out.

20240828_152728.jpg

20240828_152740.jpg

There is one that seems older than the others and the Arab influence is also very noticeable, remnants of antiquity that have been well maintained.

20240828_152801.jpg

20240828_152815.jpg

The large windows, the arches in them, the balconies and in general everything in these buildings is worthy of being looked at and admired.

20240828_152837.jpg

20240828_152859.jpg

Although this promenade has a large avenue and there is a lot of traffic, it seems a quiet place and being in the eastern part of the city creates a contrast with the rest of the city. There is a lot of history and preservation, which I really liked.

20240828_152902.jpg

Exploring this kind of place is always fascinating for me. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

Best regards to all of you and see you next time.

Nice walk, and well lighted. I really liked the low houses in the last photos, with a stately air. I am curious to know if they are located near the sea.

Best regards @avdesign

Yes, the whole avenue is two streets away from the beach, from one of the beaches of the city, but the most beautiful thing is the buildings, it was a beautiful walk! Thank you!😃

An anecdote bathed in forgetfulness, as it usually happens in these cases, by the way I did not know the cocuy.

A hug.

I’ve not heard so much about Sacha but I know Spain is fillef with beautiful houses and someway or the other, my mind always get blown away with the buildings. The houses are so beautiful and even enough to serve as tourists sites themselves.

It is curious to observe the contemporary with the current and it does not look bad at all, apart from the fact that all the structures are very well preserved, one of the things I like about Spain will always be its architecture.
Greetings friend, thanks for that walk, I was also intrigued with the endless staircase hahaha
