Happy Monday my dear readers, your friend Manuel greets you and I am very happy to have you here for a new week in my art blog; today I want to share with you a work that I had planned to publish last Friday, but due to a general blackout that happened in my country Venezuela I could not finish it on time, but well here I bring it to you today already well finished. With this work I had the idea of creating a freer style illustration, which was not related or focused on themes of warriors, magic or game stuff, but had to do with melancholy and sadness, and in it you can see a pretty girl perched on the pier with the vastness of the sea behind her, while smoking a cigarette to try to calm and dispel the great sadness that is going through the departure of a great love:

Feliz lunes mis queridos lectores, por aquí los saluda su amigo Manuel super feliz de tenerlos por aquí una nueva semana por mi blog de arte; el día de hoy les quiero compartir una obra que tenía pensado publicar el pasado día viernes, pero por cuestiones de un apagón general que ocurrió en mi país Venezuela no pudo terminarla a tiempo, pero bueno aquí se las traigo el día de hoy ya bien terminada. Con esta obra tuve la idea de crear una ilustración a estilo más libre, que no estuviese relacionada o enfocada en temáticas de guerreros, magia o cosas de juegos, sino que tuviese que ver con la melancolía y la tristeza, y en ella podrán apreciar a una linda chica posada en el muelle con la inmensidad del mar a sus espaldas, mientras se fuma un cigarrillo para tratar de calmar y disipar la enorme tristeza que esta atravesando por la partida de un gran amor:

PROCESS / PROCESO

At the beginning I thought of a sketch in which this girl whom I called by the name of (Alexia) was like with her arms crossed, almost facing the canvas while the expression of her face is a little crestfallen and her gaze is slightly lost in the distance. Once I finished the sketch and lie art I could spend the search for the right colors to give life to my work, in the case of the skin for example I used some more natural tones like a peach with a slight tendency to dark tones, and for the volumes I opted for some brown tones not so intense; additionally to give a little warmth to the face I chose to use my airbrush and with a red and orange color mixed I created a little blush in the area of the cheeks and nostrils.

En un comienzo pensé en un boceto en el cual esta chica a la cual llamé por el nombre de (Alexia) estuviese como de brazos cruzados, casi que de frente al lienzo mientras la expresión de su rostro se nota un poco cabizbaja y su mirada se ve levemente perdida en la lejanía. Ya terminado el boceto y lie art pude pasarme la búsqueda de los colores adecuados para darle vida a mi obra, en el caso de la piel por ejemplo use unos tonos más naturales como un durazno con leve tendencia a los tonos oscuros, y para los volúmenes me decante por algunos tonos marrones no tan intensos; adicional para darle un poco de calidez al rostro opte por usar mi aerógrafo y con un color rojo y naranja mezclado cree un poco de rubor en la zona de las mejillas y las fosas nasales.

In the case of the eyes I first worked a transition of colors from the skin to a soft grayish tone with some touches of shadows in the lower part, and with the lips I did almost the same, only with red tones and forming a little more volume; later for the inner part of the eyes I decided to use some intense blue tones that I liked a lot and that I thought would highlight a lot the face of (Alexia), something important here is also to add some points of brightness in the edges. In the 3rd step I gave shape to the hair of my character, here I was looking for a not too long hair and for this I used a few light brown tones, with my watercolor brush I was forming a slight wavy effect in the hair and then with my 3-tip brush I was texturing and adding the strands of hair to give that effect of realism that I like so much; in addition to the strands I also created a small reflection effect in the area of the crown and sides of the face.

En el caso de los ojos primero trabaje una transición de colores desde la piel hasta un tono mas grisáceo suave con ciertos toques de sombras en la parte de abajo, y con los labios hice casi lo mismo, solo que con tonos rojos y formando un poco mas de volumen; posteriormente para la parte interna de los ojos me decidí por usar unos tonos azules intensos que me gustaron mucho y que me pareció harían resaltar mucho el rostro de (Alexia), algo importante aquí es también agregar ciertos puntos de brillo en los bordes. En el 3er paso di forma al cabello de mi personaje, aquí buscaba una cabellera no demasiado larga y para esto use unos cuantos tonos marrones claros, con mi pincel de acuarela fui formando un leve efecto ondulado en el cabello para luego con mi pincel de 3 puntas ir texturizando y agregando los mechones de pelo que dieran ese efecto de realismo que tanto me gusta; adicional a los mechones también cree un pequeño efecto reflejo en la zona de la coronilla y a los lados del rostro.

Regarding the clothing I wasn't sure what style to give to this character, so I tried several things, first I painted a wide white shirt and I didn't like it at all, then a sweater and I didn't like this style either; until finally I decided to give her a much more elegant look and that's why I decided to dress her with a dress. For the base of the dress I used some soft blue tones that I already had in my color palette and I was creating several vertical strokes trying to form certain folds that gave that particular shape to the delicate fabric of a dress, and with a very light color I was giving the glitter that usually has the silk fabric; then to complement the dress even more I thought to create a second fabric, but in this case translucent and that this fabric was just below the dress giving a much more elegant and unique effect.

Con respecto a la vestimenta no tenía del todo claro que estilo darle a este personaje, así que probé varias cosas, primero pinte una camisa ancha de color blanco y no me gusto para nada, luego un suéter y este estilo tampoco me agrado; hasta que finalmente opte por darle una apariencia mucho mas elegante y por eso me decidí por vestirla con vestido. Para la base del vestido use unos tonos azules suaves que ya tenia en mi paleta de colores y fui creando varios trazos verticales tratando de formar ciertos pliegues que dieran esas forma particular a la tela delicada de un vestido, y con un color muy claro fui dando los brillos que por lo general tiene la tela de seda; luego para complementar aun mas el vestido se me ocurrió cree una segunda tela, pero en este caso traslucida y que esta tela fuese justo por debajo del vestido dando un efecto mucho más elegante y único.

For the final part create the dock scenery with some thick wooden railings with colors like brown and orange, and for the ocean in the background if you use a wider range of blue tones, something important here is to first create that effect of remoteness in the water with the darkest blues and then with the light tones to create that slight effect of moving lines in the water; and then to make the night not look so empty paint some clouds in the sky which slightly blurred to blend with the night. Finally, create the cigarette in his right hand with gray colors, white and a little dark yellow for the area of the mouthpiece, in addition to the characteristic effect of ashes on the tip and a slight trail of smoke coming out just in front.

Para la parte final cree el escenario del muelle con algunos barandales de madera gruesa con colores como el marrón y el naranja, y para el océano de fondo si use una gama más amplia de tonos azules, algo importante aquí es primero crear ese efecto de lejanía en el agua con los azules más oscuros y luego con los tonos claros ir creando ese leve efecto de líneas de movimiento en el agua; ya después y para que la noche no se viese tan vacía pinte algunas nubes en el cielo las cuales levemente difumine para mezclar con la noche. Por último, cree el cigarrillo en su mano derecha con colores grises, blancos y un poco de amarillo oscuro para la zona de la boquilla, además del característico efecto de cenizas en la punta y una leve estela de humo saliendo justo del frente.
