If you like anime with an interesting plot, for adults, without unnecessary sexualization and with few chapters, Dodoro is a series you will love.
Si les gustan los animes con una trama interesante, para adultos, sin sexualización innecesaria y con pocos capítulos, Dodoro es una serie que les va a encantar.
Personally, I'm not much of an anime connoisseur or fan, but sometimes I come across interesting and quality works like this one.
En lo personal, no soy muy conocedor ni fanático del anime, pero a veces me topo con obras interesantes y de calidad como esta.
INTRODUCTION
It all starts with a deal between Daigo and 12 demons. An emperor fed up with his people suffering from famines, droughts and epidemics. He decides to abandon the path of Buddha and the gods, to offer the demons a deal. In exchange for their protection of his land, in order to rule his nation, he proposes that they take something of his, "whatever they want". Lightning strikes and the pact is closed.
INTRODUCCIÓN
Todo comienza con un trato entre Daigo y 12 demonios. Un emperador harto de que su pueblo padezca hambrunas, sequías y epidemias. Decide abandonar el camino de Buda y los dioses, para ofrecerles un trato a los demonios. A cambio de que protejan sus tierras, para poder gobernar su nación, él les propone que tomen algo suyo, “lo que quieran”. Un rayo cae y el pacto se cierra.
Later, Daigo's wife is in labor. Just after the birth, they are interrupted by another lightning bolt. Everyone is shocked and terrified at the sight of that baby. The demons claimed their part of the bargain. They stripped their child of limbs, skin and senses. Leaving something barely recognizable as a human.
That baby was abandoned in a river. Everyone assumed that he would not live. His condition was extremely delicate and fragile. The baby was found by Jukai. A doctor and surgeon who raised him and protected him as a son. He provided him with functional prostheses, to cover his shortcomings. Taught him to fight to defend himself. He gave him a name to have an identity. And he was baptized as Hyakkimaru.
PLOT
Hyakkimaru despite not possessing real senses and limbs, had something that others did not. The ability to see "soul fire". This allowed him to easily identify evil beings. Giving him an advantage when it came to fighting.
TRAMA
Hyakkimaru a pesar de no poseer sentidos y extremidades reales, tenía algo que otros no. La capacidad de ver “el fuego del alma”. Esto le permitía identificar con facilidad a los seres malvados. Dotándolo de una ventaja a la hora de pelear.
One day, when defeating a demon in the forest, one of Hyakkimaru's legs regenerates. At that moment, his father assumes that he carries a curse. And to regain his entire body, he must defeat several demons. From here begins his journey to regain what was taken from him.
In the middle of his journey, he saves a girl named Dororo. She is an orphan who steals, swindles and cheats to survive. Dororo is very intrigued by Hyakkimaru and decides to accompany and follow him on his adventure. Thus begins an almost brotherly relationship.
En medio de su viaje, salva a una niña llamada Dororo. Esta es huérfana y se dedica a robar, estafar y engañar para sobrevivir. A Dodoro le intriga mucho Hyakkimaru y decide acompañarlo y seguirlo en su aventura. Así comienza una relación de casi hermanos.
THINGS I LIKED
- I love how as the chapters go by Hyakkimaru acquires more humanity. At the beginning he is seen as a senseless puppet who only knows how to fight. Over the course of the series we get to see him express emotions, laugh and be amazed by things as basic as rain.
COSAS QUE ME GUSTAN
- Me encanta como con el pasar de los capítulos Hyakkimaru adquiere más humanidad. Al principio se lo ve como una marioneta sin sentidos que solo sabe pelear. Con el trascurso de la serie podemos verlo expresar emociones, reír y asombrarse por cosas tan básicas como la lluvia.
- At one point, we are presented with a very difficult ethical dilemma: Should an entire nation perish just to get Hyakkimaru's body back? Is it right to destroy so many lives for one? Even though the protagonist just wants to get back what belongs to him, is it right? I like how they present a very fine line between good and evil.
- En un momento, se nos presenta un dilema ético muy difícil. ¿Debería perecer una nación entera solo para Hyakkimaru recupere su cuerpo? ¿Es correcto destruir tantas vidas por una? A pesar de que el protagonista solo quiere recuperar lo que le pertenece. ¿Es correcto? Me gusta como presentan una línea muy fina entre el bien y el mal.
- As I said before, this is an anime for adults. There is no childish humor, there are scenes that can shock you quite a bit and sometimes things end very badly. It's a relief to find series like this, when everything is becoming more and more infantilized.
- Como dije antes, esta es un anime para adultos. No hay humor infantil, hay escenas que te pueden impresionar bastante y a veces las cosas terminan muy mal. Es un alivio encontrar series así, cuando todo cada vez está más infantilizado.
THINGS I DO NOT LIKE
- At times, the series goes very fast and at others very slow. The first part flies by and the second part doesn't become tedious, but you do feel that things happen at a different speed.
COSAS NO QUE ME GUSTAN
- Por momentos, la serie va muy rápido y por otros muy lentos. La primera parte se pasa volando y la segunda, no se vuelve tediosa, pero si sientes que las cosas pasan a otra velocidad.
- I would have liked to see more moments of relief. Finish one fight and they jump to another. Funny you should say that, but I would have been pleased to see a bit more "filler". See more of how Hyakkimaru gets used to his senses and body, for example.
- Me hubiera gustado ver más momentos de alivio. Termina una pelea y saltan a otra. Es gracioso que lo diga, pero me hubiera agradado ver un poco más de “relleno”. Ver más de como Hyakkimaru se acostumbra a sus sentidos y su cuerpo, por ejemplo.
CONCLUSION
Personally, I recommend this series to anyone who is willing to enjoy something beautiful. And above all, I recommend this anime to those people who do not have or are not willing to spend so much time watching a series. Since it only has 24 chapters of 20 minutes. If I had to give it a score, it would be an 8.5/10.

En lo personal, recomiendo esta serie a todo aquel que esté dispuesto a disfrutar algo hermoso. Y sobre todo, le recomiendo este animé a aquellas personas que no tengan o no estén dispuestos a gastar tanto tiempo en ver una serie. Ya que está, solo posee 24 capítulos de 20 minutos. Si le tuviera que dar un puntaje, Sería un 8.5/10.

The pacing can be off because they had to adapt from the previous film which had a different story telling style than what we have today. But still captures the essence of what the story was about.
No wonder... I noticed the difference in rhythm between the two halves of the series. It's still a very good anime.

This anime seemed pretty good to me, besides that it also touches quite strong themes of how the war affected different people as it happened with Dororo's mother, as the girl they meet on the road and how they all try to survive this war. I liked that the anime was fast and concise, there were some moments of tranquility but very short, you can understand this as I had already said because of what everyone was living. Also the anime gives us to know how the burden each character has. Good post bro <3
Este anime me pareció bastante bueno, además que también toca temas bastante fuertes de como la guerra afecto a distintas personas como paso con la mama de dororo, como la chica que ellos se encuentran en el camino y como todos tratan de sobrevivir a esta guerra. Que el anime haya sido rápido y conciso me gusto bastante hubo ciertos momentos de tranquilidad pero muy cortos, se entiende esto como ya había dicho por lo que estaba viviendo todos. Además el anime nos da a conocer como la carga que tiene cada personaje. Buen post bro <3
Es verdad, el animé muestra en primer plano las terrible consecuencias de la guerra. Te hace reflexionar bastante sobre lo perjudicial que puede ser para todos.

Whenever Dororo is mentioned to me, I am reminded of this very sad scene, where a mother's love in wartime is shown.
UFF. That scene is very strong and sad. It also represents how far a mother's love can go. Enduring boiling food in her hands to feed her child.

Excelente serie, cuando ví está nueva versión me encantó por la calidad de la animación, obviamente por la trama, el desarrollo de los personajes y las secuencias de acción que son muchos mejores que la versión anterior y la versión liveaction 💪🤘
Igual no era muy difícil superar a la versión anterior, ya que era del 1967 xd.

How I love Dororo, the opening is a WONDER that to this day I still listen to (thank God QUEEN BEE exists), personally, I didn't think it was so bad that they ended a fight and started another one given the context in which the story is set, I saw comparisons of the first adaptation and this one and really this remake was very good, lately they don't make remakes like that... Thanks for sharing 😃
Cómo me gusta Dororo, el opening es una MARAVILLA que a día de hoy sigo escuchando (gracias a Dios existe QUEEN BEE), en lo personal, no me pareció ni tan mal que terminaran una pelea y empezaran otra dado el contexto en el que sitúa la historia, vi comparaciones de la primera adaptación y ésta y realmente éste remake quedó muy bueno, últimamente no hacen remakes así... Gracias por compartir 😃
El primer opening es muy bueno, el segundo mas o menos jaja. Creo que el ritmo es cuestión de gustos. En cuanto el remake, puede ser de los mejores que vi en mi vida. Si comparamos la calidad de la serie del 1967 con la del 2019, hay una diferencia enorme.
