(ESP-ENG) Shiki oriori - Movie Review!

Hello friends, good vibes to all.

Hola amigos, buenas vibras para todos.

Definitely in anime, spectacular things can be done, stories that captivate and that are called to be totally transcendent for everyone who watches them. Shiki oriori is a film that is made up of three small stories, all independent of each other, which are based on the same center and background: nostalgia and memories. From the same creators of Kimi no Na wa (Your Name) Netflix presents us with this as a refreshing option and one that will evoke, I'm sure, some feelings that we all carry with us and that we thought we had overcome or that were no longer there. I say this from experience and that is that with the first story I personally felt very identified; that is the magic of this work, the ability to get along with the story.

Memories of a bowl of noodles - A beauty, the passage of time and a ray of light on the way - A bittersweet first love, are the three stories that will be told. The first one is the story of a young man who is alone working in a big city and out of the blue he had flashbacks of his youth, exactly the moment when he was eating noodles with his grandmother. It was his happy moment of the day, the one he enjoyed the most, until it simply stopped being that way because life moves on and waits for no one. It's a great blow to nostalgia and longing for what we no longer have.

The second is about two sisters who only have each other, the older one, Yi Lin, is a model and the younger one, Lu Lu, is studying to be a fashion designer. Here what is reflected is how ephemeral life can be when work consumes us completely. Their relationship is not bad, but it is true that they have forgotten to live their life as sisters, to show their affection and admiration for each other, which in the end leads to an argument and a very emotional ending. And finally the third and the most heartfelt for me is an incomplete love story. Li Mo and Xiao Yu are great childhood friends, they go everywhere together. They love and like each other but because of their age they don't show it so easily. Their eagerness to be together is such that by a simple mistake of communication or indifference their stories take a turn. Friends, honestly, my heart crumpled with the development of this story.

I don't want to be repetitive or redundant but this for me is a real gem. While it is true that this may not be my favorite genre the impact of the three stories made me be moved, one more than another, but all with a very important emotional charge. We all miss a loved one, we all have a family member with whom we have lived many things together and of course we all have a love story that didn't happen. What these three situations have in common is the nostalgia that is generated around them, they are the memories and moments lived that make you question many things or sometimes, being more drastic, you want to turn back time.

I lost my grandmother 7 years ago and I still remember her every day, watching the first story for me was special because beyond the sadness what has to last are the moments lived with that person. This is what this movie is about, you have to live life to the fullest, think about the now, forget about what people will say and understand that those good old times will not come back but that we still have time to build better ones. That is the teaching. Brutal how they developed the stories, they are short, about 20 minutes but enough to understand them. Obviously you are going to enjoy this, I think they are a balm to remember great things in our lives.

You know when an animation is good? - When the food looks appetizing. The scenes of the noodle preparations in the first story are incredible, they literally make you hungry; the attention to detail, the colors, the fluidity of the liquids, the delicacy that surrounds the whole process is a visual pleasure. In itself, the whole film is visually on another level. The play of light, character and city design (this is set in China) is very cool, everything is quite enjoyable. And if you saw Your Name you will know more or less how it goes.

Highly recommended to watch, it's short, not even an hour and a half and I'm sure you'll enjoy it a lot. The three stories are very different but they all get where they need to go. A great discovery and I was very happy to have seen this, I hope you do the same. I'll leave the trailer here.

Well my people that's all for today, I hope you liked it.

Thank you for reading.

These are important aspects which should always be taken into account, in this movie the visuals are really good but unlike usual, the stories are better.

I was very surprised because it is not very well known. But yes, her stories are very good, one better than the other. They are those unknown gems that are worth 200% to watch.

Greetings friend, thanks for reading!

I love that you could relate to the anime! Or even learn from it. I think that's important, that you could learn a thing or two from what you're watching.
I haven't heard of this anime so it's a bit refreshing to me! Based on the screenshots, I could also tell that it's a good one to watch.
I guess if I want to feel emotional, I'll give this a watch.

I think the most important thing for me, for example with that first story, is the capacity I had to empathize, that undoubtedly made me enjoy it more. When that happens you connect in a different way with the anime and it ends up being a very cool experience.

And well, if you feel like feeling things I think you should watch it without any doubt!

Shiki Oriori really does seem to be a work that touches the feelings of those who watch it, especially because of the delicate way in which it explores themes such as nostalgia, the value of memories and the importance of the connections we cultivate throughout our lives. Each of these three stories seems to carry a unique and universal message at the same time. The story of the young man recalling the moments with his grandmother, for example, really captures that bittersweet pain of revisiting happy memories that time doesn't forgive.
