Saturday I'm Alive
Happy Saturday to all of my friends, writers, and readers on Hive!
It never ceases to amaze me how quickly days off of work fly. It probably should be noted I didn't get out of bed until after 11. I didn't sleep well between my tight hip and Jeff's CPAP making noise. I gave up around midnight and slept in the guest room. I woke up every hour, or so.
I did manage to accomplish a few things that needed to be done around the house. I folded laundry and straightened the guest room up.
Jeff is finally starting to feel better but keeps getting the hiccups. We went to Walmart and Giant Eagle to gather food items and purchased two 15" charcuterie boards for staying on New Year's Eve. We bought crackers, pepperoni, cheeses, grapes, blueberries, pickles, olives, jelly, bell peppers, cucumbers, French onion dip, and crostini bread.
On New Year's Day, we will have pork and saurkraut, a German tradition for New Year's celebrations.
We have one more day left to live in 2023. God has been merciful and brought our family through another year with no loss of life. I pray that your new year is filled with blessings. Happy New Year!

My hip is sore from washing dishes, shopping at two stores, and going up and down stairs to complete laundry today so I'm going to apply some heat and enjoy a relaxing evening at home. I'm alive and thriving in Pennsylvania.

Thank you for reading and curating. We did manage to purchase what we hoped to. Shopping was challenging, for sure. The heat from a microwave bean bag helped reduce the hip pain before I went to bed. Jeff has used a CPAP since before we met in 2017. He is trying to lose some weight to reduce his neck size so he won' be required to use the CPAP. He has a 17" neck and as a pilot he is required to use one with this neck size.

Sorry to hear about the health condition of your family members. How long has Jeff been on CPAP? I hope that the conditions improve soon.
Looks like, despite having hip issues, you bought all the items from the stores for the New Year's menu. Enjoy the most.

That is interesting! Black-eyed peas I haven't tried. Jeff is doing much better. He figured out it was probably a side effect from Wegovy (a weight loss drug he just started). He said that the CPAP can save his a life from stroke, heart disease, High BP, and more. Without it, Jeff snores all night and loud.

Yes, it scares me that my husband refuses to wear the CPAP. I tried every kind of ear plug they make, and beeswax worked the best, but I could still hear him. I finally gave up and started sleeping in the recliner in the living room and sometimes I still hear him through the door.
Good to hear that Jeff is feeling better and figured out what was wrong.
