Panic in the presence of paws

I have not been a fan of any animals since I was little, not because they are not good, but because I am always scared of animals.

Even the so-called chicken that I eat day in and day out, I can't touch it, not to mention other animals, so when it comes to animals, count me out of it.

Don't get me wrong. I don't hate them, but the fact that I can't touch them since I am scared doesn't make me find them funny to live with or play with them whenever or wherever I see them.

My junior brother once told my mom he wanted to get a dog for a pet. LoL 😂 even my mom doesn't like animals, so she told him not to dare her if not,t she will sell it before he comes back from school.

None of my siblings like animals, so let's just say I grew up with people who are afraid of animals. If not, I would have tried getting close to one, but I never get close to any animals, which makes it worse because now I don't even have any reason to get close to any animals at all.

So being afraid of any kind of animal makes me run whenever I see one, and if you are the type that loves dogs, you will notice that dogs don't like it when someone runs for them, but because I can't get close to them, I always run for them. I believe they will bite me if they move closer to me.

I have had different encounters with animals that scared me and made me run for my dear life because, to me, animals will always be animals, no matter how much they have been among people. There are times they misbehave as well, so I am going to share one of the experiences for today's prompt.

The image is mine

At that time I was still in secondary school, so I and my junior sister were going to school, and I forgot to take my textbook home, so I rushed back home while my junior sister went to school.

On my way back to school, I heard three dogs backing from a long distance, and immediately I heard their voices. Without seeing them, I panicked and ran faster.

I thought I had escaped until I wanted to stop running and looked back, then saw the three dogs at my back running after me. I didn't know what fast-forward was for me, but I just couldn't stop running because the dogs were running after me, and the expression on their faces was terrible.

Luckily, someone came to my rescue by stopping the dogs for me with a big stick, and then he told me never to run whenever I see dogs again; if not, they would pursue me. That day, I got scared because I thought those dogs were going to kill me.

The advice was good, but I can't stay cool whenever I see dogs, even to date, so the best thing I do now is to stay away as far as I can whenever I see any animals before they hurt me or I hurt them.

From all the horrible experiences I have had with animals, I learned that I can't deal with them, and what is best for me is to avoid them.

My mom too don't like dogs or even cats, one of the reason we don't have pets.

Apart from what I told in the post, I remember as a child when I was seven years old I was in a pool with my aunt, suddenly a dog appeared, I saw it drooling and I got so scared that I started to run, immediately the dog chased me around the pool and I think I went around it twice, until a man stopped the dog. The person told me exactly the same thing he told you. When you see dogs, don't run at them, they sense that we are afraid of them.

Growing up my girlfriend, (current wife) had a dog, her brothers had dogs and when I went to their houses I felt very tense, and I noticed that these animals always looked at me, even when I went home my brothers in law's dogs always bit my pants. I am still leery of dogs, however my daughter and my wife were so determined to have a pet that they adopted a very fierce stray cat, and my mother-in-law has two little parrots that are very loud and aggressive with their beaks. 🐶🐱🦜

Hahaha 🤣🤣🤣 I wonder how you manage to enter into your wife's compound knowing that they have dogs.
Left to me I will never step foot in their house again, she will be the one coming outside of their compound.
