Strategizing My Hive Goals for the Next 2 Months[ Newbies Initiative Task 1]

Hello everyone, I hope you’re enjoying your day.
It’s a great pleasure to be given the opportunity to be a part of the newbies initiative program. Obviously I’m not the only newbie who applied to be a part of the program, a lot of us did but just a few were selected to take part.
I hope we all put in our best and make good use of this opportunity towards our growth on the blockchain.

This is my first task as a newbie of the newbies initiative program and I am under the supervision of @depressedfuckup

Since joining hive a few months ago , I’ve learnt a lot but I can’t say it’s enough because we learn everyday. My main aim when I joined hive was to write , develop my writing skills and have fun on the blockchain but with time things changed as I began to learn one or two things everyday. I came to realise that in as much as I want to have fun and all, I needed to grow my account. From there, my goals started to change.

Our first discord meeting which was organised by @starstrings01 last weekend was very educative I must say. A lot was said during the meeting and I enjoyed every bit of it.

My response to my first task as a member of the newbies initiative will be based on the knowledge I acquired from our discussion in our previous meeting.

Basically, l'll talk about my hive goals for the next 2 months and my strategies for achieving them.

What is goal setting to you?

Per my understanding, goals are future results one aims to achieve within a period of time.
Without hard work and dedication, one cannot achieve his or her goals. Without goals, one us likely to loose focus and this will hinder growth and development.

Why do you need to set smart goals?

Setting goals for oneself is a very important decision in life. Aside hive, we all have goals we aim to achieve with different plans and strategies.

Without goals, one is likely to lose focus. Goal setting makes one stay focused on the target at hand. One main importance of setting goals is to realise what our priorities are and work towards the task ahead.

Setting goals increase productivity and aids in tracking of ones progress.
With setting goals, one usually aims to accomplish a task at the end of each passing day and with this, you are pushed to do the necessary because if you fail to do so, then there would be a problem.
This increases productivity and also allows one to track his or her progress. Sometimes it’s normal that we wouldn’t complete the task for the day but it’s all a part of our progress.
With this, it would be easier to make adjustments to your schedule as you please to be able to complete the days work.

Goal setting instils the spirit of discipline in the individual. Someone with goals appears way different from someone without goals. You can see the vast difference in both parties because the one with goals is always disciplined and doing things the way he should be doing them while the other party just does what they do best. This also serves as a source of motivation to the individual. In your quest to achieve a goal, you come to realise how disciplined you really are when you set a task to be achieved. Through this, one is motivated to never give up because with hard work and discipline you’ll surely get there.

Setting goals is the first step in getting where you want to be and so it is important to set SMART goals for yourself.

My Hive goals

I remember setting goals for myself at the ending of the year 2022. At some point I started to feel like I wasn’t getting any closer to my goals. With time, I came to realise that my goals weren’t SMART goals. SMART goals are Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant, and Time Bound.
In order to avoid having the feeling I had about my previous goals, my new goals will sure be SMART ones!

My Hive power goal

I want to be a whale but you and I both know that , that can’t happen within two months.😅
I have come to realise the importance of hive power in this ecosystem and so it is my topmost priority to grow my HP.
Building my hive power will also allow me to enjoy more curation earnings.

For my Hive power goals, I aim to increase my HP which is currents 340HP to 600HP. With this, I would need to obtain at least 40HP every week which would obviously be from author rewards and powering up occasionally.

My reputation goal

Posting very often would most definitely increase my reputation and so my reputation goal is to increase my reputation from 61 to 65 in the next two months.

My Following goal

With consistency and good interaction with other authors in the ecosystem, I should be able to raise my following from 31 to 50 by the end of this program

My Engagement goal

Engagement is the first and very important word on hive. I haven’t really been engaging that much in hive these past weeks due to my schedule and academic with. Even with this, I aim to make at least 10 to 15 comments everyday. With this, I should have made about 840 comments by the end of these two months.

My consistency goal

To achieve your goal, one has to be consistent. To grow on hive, consistency is a must and so my consistency goal is to post at least once everyday.
I think it’s going to be hard for me to make a post everyday at some point so let me make it at least a post every two days even though I plan to post at least once everyday. I think at least 5 posts a week should do. I intend to put in more effort to be able to achieve my goals.

Analyze the goals above, what makes them smart goals?

In setting goals for oneself, we need to try as much as possible to set SMART goals and not just goal.
For your goals to be SMART, they need to be Specific ,Measurable, Attainable, Relevant and Time-bound.
One can tell that goals I have set for myself ahead of the next two months are very SMART in that, I know what I want to achieve, how, why and within what time frame.

These goals are realistic and attainable because I have planned everything to fit my busy schedule.

What strategies do you want to put in place to achieve your goals?

I’m quite sure you already know what measures I intend to put in place to achieve me goals.
First off, I plan to be consistent because consistency is key on hive. With consistency, I would be able to grow my HP from curation rewards and constant powering which in turn tackles my engagement and reputation goal.

I look forward to achieving these goals I set for myself within the next two months. And to achieve these goals, I need to be hardworking and dedicated.
