Fear | Inherent & Experiential

png_20231125_123145_0000.png

Fear is one of thoss emotions that you can hardly master no matter your level of experience. Although it gets better over time, when it comes to matters of survival, loss, or flight, this is how we can test our capacity to withstand fear. Fear of the unknown in the presence of suspected danger is one of the most delicate things to deal with. It's like having to deal with uncertainty while being blind.

As humans, seeking and having knowledge is one of the ways we overcome fear, this is because knowledge gives us the capacity to deal with things we may not even understand. In reality, everyone fears what they don't know. However, having the experience of facing unknown danger decreases the chances of fear. However, fear is never completely eradicated. Sometimes its negative downsides bring anxiety, worry, and living without freedom.

Nevertheless, fear doesn't come without its positives. Fear is a double-edged sword. There are times we act upon it and it saves us immensely and there are times we act on it and it just adds to the existing issue. We cannot completely deduce fear, however, it's important to know that it's the most erratic human emotion. It makes people vulnerable, dangerous, weak, and even unpredictable. Every human has an inclination, a breaking, and a selling point.

No matter how trained we are to withstand oppression. There's always something, that makes us vulnerable and weak. The human flesh is a strength and weakness. If not we're double-edged, we might become the most formidable force in our universe and even beyond. However, we have a Creator, who has designed us in the way we need to be. Our system of existence is a natural check to our excesses, and this is why there's always a limit to how far we can go when acting on our fear.

A lot of people will never get tested to understand their breaking point, and this is because life is fair to some and unfair to others. One of man's sentiments is being judgemental. However, what differentiates us is knowledge and level of experience. People who have more experience in life are less judgemental, especially when they have scars from their various experiences with life.

Sometimes we cannot predict our battles and this is why people who have survived so much in life are people who fear a lot. People who are reckless in life have had few life-defining moments and while it's better to be the former, life is more freeing when you're the latter. It's never a beautiful thing to face a lot. This is because fighting and winning always isn't always a hallmark of sustenance.

There are times we fight too much in life, the more we win, the more scared we become of what a potential loss might feel like. Fear is not only driven by failure. Sometimes it's driven by excessively winning. When people win too much in life, it gets to a point, where they become scared of any chance of a potential loss.

Fear is unpredictable, and even if you've never been in a position when fear is driven by life-defining moments, then it's difficult to truly understand what fear is, and how far it can control or incapacitate a person. At the end of the day, we can never outgrow fear, it's present in us, in every corner where we think we've mastered the art of bravery.

Fear will always be there, we just have to be conscious of what we fear and who we fear. As humans we will keep having fears and we either overcome those fears or be overcomed by them and that's a choice we have to make for ourselves.

You're right. However, we mostly overcome what we know. There are things we don't know, thinking of them alone sends one into episodes of fear. However there are people who would be lucky to never experience true fear.

That's true, like you said, you were here will never know what another is going through expect they've faced something similar or more.

Everyone of us have something that makes us scared or let me say our greatest fear no matter how brave or strong we are…

Fear - false evidence appearing real.
Fear of the unknown have kept some people stagnant in life. Fear of what people will say have buried many creative minds in the grave. Fear of taking risk has made some people to lose being millionaires.

Fear will always be there and it's left for us to take responsibility and never let it get the most of us.

I tend to think fear is bigger, this is because it tests people in different ways. So definitions might differ, especially for people who have experienced the terrible side of life and done things to survive

Fear holds us in doubting our abilities, can lead to debilitating consequences, something we need to train our mind to overcome, or face directly on to see if we are able to overcome. We all suffer this in one way or another I do believe.

We all suffer one way or the other like you've pointed out. Training the mind is a lifelong thing. Sometimes it can be overly challenging.

Tiresome when you start fearing new things that never bothered you in all the years previously.

I think fear being inherent gives it a potent force that makes it quite impossible to conquer. It's mostly irrational and prevents us from taking or not taking actions. Acknowledging it goes a long way in helping us understand it and perhaps, learn to control it and not being overly control by it.

Being controlled by it isn't what we might want sometimes, but it might just end up controlling us because of how fragile or vulnerable we can become

Right, we're mostly susceptible to fear during those situations and this often puts us more under its clutches.

In the grand scheme of things, fear brings some balance to the human mind. It's necessary and useful in certain aspects of our lives. Learning to understand what makes fear and acting accordingly can be a weapon when handled properly.

I am fearful of certain things in my life at the moment, but to some degree it's a good thing as it makes me want to solve my problems sooner rather than being complacent.

For someone who has been physical and mental emaciating, I can tell you that I've never been more scared in my entire life than the past 3 months. To me, it halts and makes you stop living

Fear doesn't respect age, gender or physique, as long as you're human and you can feel then you're a prey to fear.

Fesr could also kill...heart attack. Fear could also be used positively, it stops us from doing certain things. Parents instil a little amount of fear in their kids so the kids wouldn't do a certain thing.

Exactly. Fear is default, it makes it make dangerous

Well said. Fear can tie our growth down. It is one thing we cannot run away from rather we should stay and face it. Because the more you run, the more you fear

Quite an interesting topic bro. Fear cuts across the board, whether rich or poor, everyone has something or things that they are cautious against. I think having an open mind and keeping open to learning new stuff is the key to overcome fear. Thank you for sharing and enjoy Sunday ahead :}

Fear is always going to be there. We have to fight against it and it's a constant battle. We can do our best to make sure the fears are alleviated and make sure that it doesn't affect our lives as much
