MY FIRST HIVEPAKISTAN MEETUP WITH @DLMMQB

This finally happened. We had been planning this meetup for over a couple of weeks and today we finally executed the plan. Before moving on to the details of this meetup let me first give you a bit of a background. @dlmmqb is the user who mentored me in my initial days on the Hive Blockchain. When I first stepped into the world of Hive, I was quite confused, if I put it into simple words. This isn't just a site to blog, it's much much bigger than that. There are so many native tokens, so many different communities, games, frontends, affiliations and whatnot, so needless to say it was quite overwhelming for me. Dlmmqb was there with me throughout the journey and still helps me whenever I get stuck somewhere. There's something that he said to me today, which will summarize the whole paragraph that I mentioned above:

there are so many new tokens kn Hive getting generated everyday, that it's almost impossible for anyone to catch up with all of them altogether.

Reaching the destination seems quite far-fetched at the moment, so how about I just do my thing and enjoy the journey.

We decided to meet at 10:50 am at the most aesthetic place of our city and that is, Seaview, Karachi. Seaview is an open to all place for the people all around the world. It's a seashore also known as Clifton Beach, the place where the Arabic Ocean meets the land. I tried my very best to reach on time as dlmmqb was already present at our decided place. I was riding a bike and on my way, while I was at a traffic signal, I took some pictures of portraying some beautiful cityscape.

IMG_20221029_110519.jpg

I finally found him and we strolled down the sandy beach while the water made our shoes all muddy. Now, here's the thing, after this meetup, I had to go back to my hospital so I was trying my best to avoid the water but when you're at a beach it's a really hard thing to do.

Moving on to the important talks that took place between us: We're a total of 18 verified Pakistani users on Hive, as mentioned by dlmmqb and we discussed a way of empowering the community through good means. We discussed about the trust-worthiness of the users from Pakistan and why there is such a less amount of users from Pakistan on Hive. We discussed about the basic etiquettes on Hive and that was to encourage users on NOT getting involved in any sort of abuse,be it plagiarism, content farming, account farming and multiple other forms of abuse. Dlmmqb told me a story of an abuser that he caught with over tens of accounts under his name. It saddened me to hear that people tend to take unethical and unscrupulous ways of getting some extra rewards. He told me with the efforts of the anti abuse team on Hive, it's almost impossible for abusers to stay for a long time on Hive, that relieved me to be honest.

He also enlightened me a bit about the Cartel and the tribe tokens. To be very honest, it was quite compelling as well as overwhelming for me and I tried my best to absorb as much as I can. He guided me on how can we have a smooth growth on Hive and I presented him my thoughts and opinions. It was good to know that we're both on the same page regarding a lot of things, such as anti abuse, engagement, goals and other stuff.

After that, we talked generally about life and our professions. It didn't quite hit us but an hour had already passed while being indulged in all these talks. We took a momentarily break and captured some beautiful pictures.

Time flew without us having the slightest of ideas. This showed how interested we both were in listening and discussing each other's views on different things. After our walk on the beach we rode to a nearby cafe called Cafe Clifton where we had the traditional Pakistan Breakfast called Halwa Poori and tea. Halwa poori is a combination of different things which include a potato curry, chickpeas curry, bread and a sweet dish called Halwa.

After having breakfast, we went on our ways and decided to meet again soon to have another productive discussion about the future of Hive in Pakistan as well as growth on Hive.

This meetup holds a very important place in my life as I think this was the first ever Hive Pakistan meetup and we ended up learning a lot things from each other. I wish to have a positive impact on this platform through my words and guide a lot of more genuine users from Pakistan.

I came to know about their vigilant attitude on Steempakistan and how they raised voice against what was happening wrong. I thought they would be a great asset to Hive ecosystem so I on-boarded them. Currently, I have a group chat specially for new learners like them. I was inspired by their ethics and moral values, putting moral values above money. After that I dug into web2 and saw the work of both in different areas and finally decided to help them.

@event-horizon @huzaifanaveed can confirm this screenshot while I can't name the person I sent text to them as he/she is active on other blockchain and I don't have an account their.

They are older steemians than you dear @dlmmqb and they know very well what is right for them. They chose a centralized platform because steemcurtaor01 was helping drive traffic to Steemit by depriving innocent people of good rewards. @huzaifanaveed and @event-horizon were well aware of this and they were bringing their own people to the steemit so they can reap the rewards.

They were happy with the system until steemcurator01 withdrew his support from them. They have betrayed their own people and now they will bring them into the hive to follow the same procedure. Event-horizon is a part of the steemit witness nodes that are run by the cheaters like @malikusman1, @drhive75, @drtipu, and the leader @uop.

Those who had left alone all of their valuable followers and the whole community just because of the steemcurator01's upvote how they are gonna bring the values to the Hive?

Will you abandon the people you are leading right now and the precious people of the Hive community if you don't get the vote from the whales? Is this the ethics and moral values you are talking about?

They are older steemians than you dear @dlmmqb and they know very well what is right for them.

I have to bet on some horse to continue the cycle? I am just doing what I think is right but I would be wrong. Just a human doing what he can to achieve good things for the plateform.

Event-horizon is a part of the steemit witness nodes that are run by the cheaters

She indeed helped them get witness votes but same can be undone or even more damage to cheaters if we turn the tables?

how they are gonna bring the values to the Hive?

I am unable to answer that. Apologies.

if you don't get the vote from the whales?

I was the same when I got no votes. Community have the right to test me by putting into harder challenges. I am assure community have the capacity to test anyone by a series of challenges.

Is this the ethics and moral values you are talking about?

No, he is involved in some volunteer work other than blockchain. I searched it through web2 and what he did for students of medical field in karachi.

Anyways, I am not saying I would be sure about my any judgement, but I can only say I am doing it with good thoughts and better future for the community.

I have not many words to say just expressed my broken feelings.

they were bringing their own people to the steemit so they can reap the rewards.

Sorry, what? I hardly introduced few potential people to Steemit and I don't remember being rewarded for that.

They were happy with the system until steemcurator01 withdrew his support from them.

One more misunderstanding. Steemcurator01 didn't withdraw the support from me. It was I who went againt them first. You can ask any Steemian about that or check my account history yourself. (:
I never relied on sc01 anyways. You can go through my Steemit profile and see for yourself.

They have betrayed their own people and now they will bring them into the hive to follow the same procedure.

How's this a betrayal to anyone? Are you implying that I can't have my own choice?

You are assuming that I will bring more people in future. Well, I haven't given it a thought yet. But is it a bad thing? In any case, I am not going to invite random Steemians to Hive. I think of it as a big responsibility and will invite only potential people IF I find any.

Event-horizon is a part of the steemit witness nodes that are run by the cheaters like @malikusman1, @drhive75, @drtipu, and the leader @uop.

"Was" part of the Witness team. I should have annouced it publicly when I left the team because they were still using my name until few days ago when I noticed and asked them to remove it.

I had some speculations about the team members but I never accuse anyone if I don't have a solid proof. I talk facts and don't make assumptions or take decisions based on rumours. When I saw the proof with my own eyes, I warned a member but afterwards there were more suspicions regarding other members and meanwhile I was also having one-sided argument with Steemit team. In the end, I decided to leave the witness team as well as Steemit becuase I lost hope.

Those who had left alone all of their valuable followers and the whole community just because of the steemcurator01's upvote how they are gonna bring the values to the Hive?

If I was after the votes then I would have never spoken up against the Steemit team in first place. I also had some curator accounts in my hand, I could easily self-support myself if rewards mattered that much to me. But everyone there knows how honestly I handled my responsibilities and never misused the authority.

I left alone my valuable followers. It wasn't easy for me either. But things were beyond repair now and it took me a lot of time to come to a conclusion that it's time to say goodbye.

I was at the peak of my blogging journey on Steemit. I had everything; genuine followers, respect, vote support (besides sc01) and trust. It's not easy to start from scratch. I would have been earning 100 times more at the moment on Steemit if I had stayed quiet there. On the contrary, I spoke up. Tried to highlight every issue that platform has. In the end, I only left because they didn't want to change not because of some votes which I could have gotten anyways and also from sc01 after an apology.

I understand that you have your reasons to doubt but no worries I am here to answer all your questions.

Hello @orianagua . I was an active blogger on Steemit and was one of the most respected Pakistani user there. I have quit Steemit due to a lot of reasons, major being the abuse, centralization and a lot of other wrongs going on there on regular basis. As a person of high moral values and ethics, I raised voice against it. After that I was contacted by @dlmmqb on discord, who introduced himself as one of the few active verified bloggers from Pakistan. I was guided by him when I first started on Hive. Also, the screenshot posted by dlmmqb in the comment above, I can attest to it.

I plan on working with absolute transparency, ethics and commitment. The goal is to make a name on this platform, have a steady growth and help any other Pakistani person who has the same mindset. I hope this answers the question
Thank you

Thank God that you realized in a year and a half, it did not take five or ten years. The platform was decentralized until steemcurator01 was supporting you and there was no abuse until last month.

When I commented this, I had the betterment of steem in my mind. That's all I have had in my mind since the very start. There are tons of users here on Steemit who look up to me as they know I write naturally and I present my ideas naturally.

Unfortunately, my suggestion didn't quite go well with you as you got offended in a matter of seconds. This is a professional platform where all of us expect professional behavior, especially from the Steemit team itself. Alas, that wasn't the case here. You decided to unvote my post just because you didn't like my opinion.

I decided to let that go but then you ignored all the comments, which I am sure you have read already, and I am also sure that you won't be replying to this comment as well. But I'll post it nonetheless for the users to see, what happens when your opinions don't allign with the steemit team's opinions. Then no matter whoever you are. Whatever your contributions are. No matter how much respect and credibility you have earned on this platform, you don't mean anything. Pretty sad, if you ask me.

Recently I noticed that you didn't upvote my fellow CR on her weekly report, which was her right. As a CR I know how difficult it is to maintain the decorum on this platform. You didn't give her her right, which made me realize how far things have slipped out of hands juet because we wanted the betterment of this platform.

This has left me with no choice but to respectfully step down from this position. I thank you for all the support that you've given me, I am truly thankful for that, but I'll give you my two cents on this matter:

Please try to be a bit more open to suggestions, especially from users who have wanted nothing but good for Steemit. For a healthy platform, a healthy interaction between the team and the CRs is very essential.

Anyway, I will be continuing on this platform as a blogger who loves to write, as I used to be. I hope as a blogger, I'll be much better and will continue with the old ways.

I hope, for the upcoming CR(s) you're a bit more open and considerate.
Thank you.

Once steemcurator01 withdraws support from you, you leave the community and you also withdraw support from your own people. You kicked all your supporters and valuable members who were supporting you. Do all your old friends mean nothing to you?

What about tons of people who were following you? Aren't you thinking that there are hundreds of minnows who have been forced by the most respected active bloggers like you to keep quiet and sticked with steemit?

36000 Sp in your wallet by following the centralized rules like Club 100 and Burnsteam 25 etc, which are followed by minnows because good bloggers are following them. Now you have left Steemit, but what will happen to them? Once you got enough Steems now you think the steemit is a abusive and centralized. You left it and withdraw your support, Good.

You are the promoter of Steemit and the core rules created by the Steemit team. Are upvotes the only thing that mattered to you? For us hiveans community comes first then votes and money. This was the reason for the separation of the platform two years ago.

I'm amazed at @dlmmqb's timing and the funniest thing is that he was inviting people who joined steemit before dlmmqb knew about Splinterlands. I was a bit confused as to why cheaters have been joining Hive for the past few months. Now I find out that someone was providing a bridge to join the Hive community.
It all started with @iffatilyas and his crew who are also respected bloggers on steemit because their darkness is hidden behind some other blocks and they also run the witness node of steem😂. Everyone was using @dlmmqb's name and he was supporting and promoting them. As he is promoting you. Yes, there is a reason because he does not know who is a good and valuable person from his own country. If I have to bring some good content creators from my country to bring value to the platform, I will find them on other social networks, not on a scammy blockchain where 90% of people are fake and scammers.

I'm amazed at @dlmmqb's timing and the funniest thing is that he was inviting people who joined steemit before dlmmqb knew about Splinterlands.

Till now, I only onboard two steemians I mentioned. I never contacted first to any steemian like in this case.

It all started with @iffatilyas and his crew who are also respected bloggers on steemit because their darkness is hidden behind some other blocks and they also run the witness node of steem😂.

Yes, I apologize for supporting "Muhammed Faisal" and his abuse racket as I was unaware of what was happening. Thanks to some forks, it's now shutdown.

Everyone was using @dlmmqb's name and he was supporting and promoting them.

There r multiple people who use my name but I don't support them all.
Example:
https://ecency.com/hive-125125/@akmalshakir/becoming-part-of-the-hive

Yes, there is a reason because he does not know who is a good and valuable person from his own country.

It might be a correct statement but I didn't supported wrong people willingly and after knowing any abusive activities by them.

I will find them on other social networks, not on a scammy blockchain where 90% of people are fake and scammers.

I will keep that in mind.

Hello @orianagua let me reply to your confusions as well as misunderstandings.

Once steemcurator01 withdraws support from you, you leave the community and you also withdraw support from your own people. You kicked all your supporters and valuable members who were supporting you. Do all your old friends mean nothing to you?

I'm sorry, but I fail to understand what support did I withdraw from 'my own people'? It is a professional platform where people work as colleagues. I didn't kick any of my 'supporters and valuable members' and infact more than 90% of the people I knew from steemit are still working there so I am not sure which valuable members you're talking about. Steemcurator01 didn't withdraw the support from me, I was the one who went against them and presented my perspective without any fear or anything. Infact, I never relied on Steemcurator01. I know you're someone who works for the betterment of Hive and also have good investigation skills as well. I invite you to personally check that on steemit and you will see that I never relied on Steemcurator01. Even without their support, I was blogging there.

What about tons of people who were following you? Aren't you thinking that there are hundreds of minnows who have been forced by the most respected active bloggers like you to keep quiet and sticked with steemit?

No one was forced to stay quiet by me. Nil. None. Everyone chooses something and I chose to speak up against the things that were going wrong according to me and I faced the consequences. There are a lot people who might not have spoken up as it would have affected their growth on the platform but that has got nothing to do with me.

You're mentioning the SP in my wallet. Please don't forget that it was all because of my consistency and good blogging. You can go and check my account on Steemit right now and you'll have an idea that I didn't rely on Steemcurator01 solely. There have been times when I wasn't getting any whatsoever support from Steemcurator01. I was still getting support from different users and you can attest to that. What made me leave was the disrespect. I had never been disrespected like that before and honestly, this is not a corporate life that we're living so I decided to leave. Alot of other people didn't leave and that's their choice. Never have I forced anyone to join and never have I forced anyone to leave. Everyone has a free choice to do whatever they feel like doing.

You are the promoter of Steemit and the core rules created by the Steemit team. Are upvotes the only thing that mattered to you? For us hiveans community comes first then votes and money. This was the reason for the separation of the platform two years ago.

I "was" a promoter of Steemit and those days are gone. When I was on steemit, I worked with ethics and moral values. Even when I stepped down from that platform, I did it in the most respectful way. I'm a strong advocate of working ethically no matter where you are. So yes, I will never deny that I didn't follow rules there because I did. But, once again, I invite you to check my profile on Steemit as well as here and also ask anyone that you think knows me from there or from Hive, they'll tell you that engagement and community has always been my first priority and I have alwayssss advocated for engagement since day 1. Infact this has been my motto. 'Produce good content, engage, build a network and the rewards will automatically follow you.'

I'm amazed at @dlmmqb's timing and the funniest thing is that he was inviting people who joined steemit before dlmmqb knew about Splinterlands.

I'm sorry Idk anything about dlmmqb and anything about Splinterlands or whatsoever but what I do know is, as he has mentioned as well, that he saw our vigilant behaviour and invited us.

It all started with @iffatilyas and his crew who are also respected bloggers on steemit because their darkness is hidden behind some other blocks and they also run the witness node of steem😂. Everyone was using @dlmmqb's name and he was supporting and promoting them.

I'm sorry but I have no idea who @iffatilyas is...

I will find them on other social networks, not on a scammy blockchain where 90% of people are fake and scammers.

I agree with this. Infact on our meetip and infact even before that he told me about my Facebook group which got zucced recently. Did you know it was the biggest Facebook group of Pakistan with more than 400,000 members in it? I am an active social worker in my city and helped hundreds and thousands of people through charity and volunteer work. Maybe, he might have noticed that? It's quite difficult to not notice someone doing such work on such a large scale specially when you're from the same city. One more thing, I'd like to clarify. I didn't know dlmmqb before I joined Hive.

I hope, I am able to clear your misunderstandings and if I haven't, please ask away anything. I would like to add one last thing and that is, if you think I am here for the money or the rewards it's not the case. If I'd been running for rewards I'd have never left Steemit in the first place. I was at the pinnacle of my work on Steemit and could have made a lottt of more money from there compared to my journey from the scratch here on hive. I had good support from international users, had followers and infact had accounts in my hand which I could have used to self vote but I didn't do that. I decided to speak up against the team. Only if I were after rewards I could have agreed to Steemcurator01 and have gotten the votes once again.

Thank you for being so patient while reading my comment. I understand what you're doing is for the betterment of Hive platform and for that I welcome you to clear any questions or anything that you have.
Thank you.

Just curious, if Steemit has let you down, why are you still so desperate to hold onto your stake there?

Hey @livinguktaiwan thank you for showing interest in this conversation.

I've no longer any sort of association with Steemit or it's team. I'll be completely honest with you as I believe honesty always prevails. As a medical student, in this country which is going through extreme economical crisis, I HAVE to think of something to afford my studies and my daily expenditures as well. Right now I don't have any stable income which will help me in that. For this reason I have delegated my steem to the community called 'Project Hope' for delegation rewards as I am desperate to have some cash to run the family. Right now, I am starting to settle on Hive, but during this phase, I needed something to help me in my life, thus the delegation.

If you have any other questions please ask me.
Thank you.

Off-topic but connected with discord chat.
1UP vote cries in silence. First of all, I don't wanna spoil anyone by pleasing me to get any sort of votes in my hands. Secondly, 1UP have strict policies which ofcourse I made.
He still hit the jackpot 😁

Seaview.....! The most aesthetic place of Karachi 🤣. ! Don't tell me this again how aesthetic our dearest beach has be become with garbage.

Anyways, I am excited to see you guys meeting up this way. I wish I might also be there but unfortunately I am not that independent to pick a bike and go my way..... huuuh.

@dlmmqb has worked hard to gather us all. I hope one day we will be powerful even if small.

Good luck to you too, boy!! Who knows I may meet you someday with an aching tooth 😉

Hahaha, yes it indeed is aesthetic. You know what I was most surprised about? I saw a KMC vehicle on beach picking up all the trash. Only if it could pick the real trash (people who throw garbage on the beach)

I am not that independent to pick a bike and go my way.....

Yeaaah. I understand this. This is one of the male privileges that we get here. I wish there comes a day when everyone has this privilege.

Who knows I may meet you someday with an aching tooth 😉

Always welcome Amber. If you have any oral issues you know who to contact;)

Wowwww. KMC vehicle there.

If garbage throwing people would be thrown away our whole country would be empty.
Very sad reality it is.

My teeth have some issues. Feels like we will be meeting soon

Glad you had the opportunity to meet in person. Hive is definitely confusing for newbies and happy to hear you had someone teach you a thing or two.
