Finding Trouble!!!

It was kinda chaotic last night, in the place I was at. I’ve not been at my lodge for a few days now and I’ve been staying at my friend’s. My friend lives in a pretty big lodge with two giant complexes that house over a hundred rooms. This is to show you just how many people reside there. I know only a handful of people there and my friend is the one I know the most.

However, my friend is a hard worker and he got to work the night shift last night. It turned out that last night was also the night the lodge decided to throw a party. And as per usual style, it would be from night until momma calls. I wasn’t going to attend it, I knew that right from the onset because my friend wasn’t going to attend seeing as he had to be at work. Furthermore, I couldn’t afford to be at a party where the only person I knew in the bunch was absent. That would make for a lot of awkward silences.

So, I just decided to relax in the room and continue with my work. When I was done with that, I moved on with a movie. Around that time, the party had started and they were already blaring music from really big speakers, disturbing the peace of the night. To counter this, I played music of my own. Soothing kind of music that allowed me to slide into sleep despite the noise. And this noise camouflage that I created would prevent me from hearing what would turn out to be one of the most traumatic nights for everyone.

I didn’t witness the event, but I found out everything that happened later on, and it was from a reliable source. The party had been going on as planned, they were having fun and people were dancing and enjoying themselves. Then, according to the account I heard, the vigilante soon approached them. They knocked on the giant mate, demanding to know why the lodge didn’t ask for permission before deciding to host a party. It was illegal, especially when they were disturbing the peace for so many people.

However, the thrill-seekers didn’t pay any attention to them. One person rushed into his room and the next thing that everyone heard was the crack of a rifle and a bullet was fired into the air. It was never clarified if the bullet was a live one or a dud. However, nothing changed the fact that he did fire off a shot!

This seemed to inspire the party lovers to fight off the vigilantes. Whatever they were high on that night, it made them extremely violent and it only got worse with every second that passed. They locked the vigilantes outside the compound. They trooped upstairs and began to hurl bottles and stones at the officials. This was a really terrible act and it was clear that it wasn’t a well-thought-out one.

When the stoning became too much, the vigilantes were forced to flee. This encouraged the fun-seekers to return to their music and keep the fun going. The music only continued for about ten minutes when it was abruptly shut up. The cops had arrived. And when you know that the cops arrived, you can imagine just how downhill the rest of the hill went. I think I'd leave all that for another story.
