Cuban coffee, especially the type known as "Cuban" or "Express", is known for its strong and sweet flavor, usually sweetened with sugar during the elaboration process.This is not lacking in any home.The ritual of preparing coffee is not only a daily practice, but it is also a social moment where friends and family gather to share and enjoy. The first thing a Cuban does when he wakes up is to make coffee.

The cultivation of coffee in Cuba has been crucial for the country's economy, especially in the mountainous regions of the Sierra Maestra, very near to where I live.The variety of Cuban coffee, particularly the "Arabian", is valued by its quality. In addition, coffee production in Cuba has been linked to national identity and has been an integral part of our cultural heritage.

Coffee has transcended its role as a simple drink, it is a symbol of hospitality and camaraderie, so that the way to serve and share it became an essential component of Cuban daily life.The coffee culture in Cuba is a faithful reflection of the history, tradition and community spirit of the country.

I could perhaps talk at length about some aspects of the development of the coffee shop business in my city, but I will refer to just one that has caught my attention.
Just yesterday, at the invitation of a friend, I visited a place that I would not have gone to on my own, and it turned out to be a pleasant surprise.
Normally, I don't like coffee shops that are inside supermarkets or other businesses, but this one knew how to resolve its spaces in a very intelligent way. They were designed as places of transit, keeping the environments separate. Its architecture is simple but very pretty and it has a second level that offers a very attractive view of the city.
There I saw the aspect that I would like to tell you about: in my city there are a large number of young people working in the coffee business, and they are mainly women.
Very young women who, at the same time as developing in the business, have a great drive to improve and study to become professionals. They do this, in addition, sharing other roles as productive members of their families or raising their children alone. Yesterday we celebrated International Women's Day and it was very nice for me, after coming from an event I organized to commemorate that day, to have a nice conversation with the baristas of this coffee shop. Young, friendly, intelligent women, and very motivated to get ahead. In honor of them and to celebrate yesterday a little, I leave this photo:

I live in a country where coffee is part of the daily life of almost all inhabitants. It is a drink that goes beyond the culture and the ways of relating to each other.
Here in #Cuba there is a popular phrase that describes the importance of #coffee and is related to the fact of waking up. Almost everyone, when they arrive at a place in the morning in a bad mood, says: Hey! What's wrong with you? Haven't you had coffee today?
And it is that, in our families, practically from childhood, we are accustomed to consuming it from the beginning of the day, even if it is as a substitute for the breakfast that many do not have on their tables.
If you ask me my opinion on the coffee culture in my country, I would say that I think it is interesting considering how social norms govern, beyond the value it has as a product that is exported.
When one goes to visit a friend, or even if it does not have to be an acquaintance, it can simply be during a casual visit to someone's house, the first thing that will be offered to you is a cup of coffee.
In another way, it is similar. When someone comes to our homes, the first thing they expect to be offered is coffee. And if you manage to make the coffee strong, then without a doubt the satisfaction on everyone's faces will provide a light that is reassuring and peacefully pleasant.

Hello coffee enthusiasts! I live in Cumanayagua, Cuba, an area where coffee is an extremely important crop. Perhaps because of this, our "coffee culture" is somewhat different from what is typically understood by this term. Most people prefer to buy the beans, roast them, and prepare their own coffee, rather than buying it ready-made at a shop.

Perhaps that’s why we only have one coffee shop, which is never short of customers but also never manages to fill its seating area.

One of my jobs is quite stressful, but since we’re all young, after a particularly intense work meeting, we usually all head to the coffee shop together, and as if by magic, the heavy mood changes.

I’m on the far left of the photo, and everyone in the image is my coworker. No one would guess, looking at us, that we had just come from one of those stormy meetings where no one is satisfied with anything.

The coffee shop has become a gathering spot for the people, where jokes and good vibes are never in short supply. Even though we all have coffee at home, ready to be brewed, nothing beats the experience of sharing a good moment with friends.

It is possible that in Venezuela there is a lot of history to tell about coffee. Our culture with this exquisite beverage transcends all the states and towns of the country. We are pure coffee beans. Visitors to our home are well received and the first thing we offer to each one of them is a cup of coffee like the one in the photograph. It is not about giving it a special design, what is special is in the simplicity and love with which we prepare the coffee. As simple as in my photograph, it is received in every home. In the morning and in the afternoon and also at night we drink and offer coffee, nothing more emblematic than this gesture of cordiality.
