Maybe it's just a matter of culture or taste education, but I always, always prefer hot, dark coffee.
Every experience in the circles in which I move is associated with a "negrito". From public events to meals with friends, everything ends with a hot coffee.
So I would choose a hot coffee every time.

Same here I really wonder how a cold coffee would taste

I also like hot and hot black coffee, of course, that is my preference at all times, that's why my early morning coffees are hot and black.

While I do enjoy an iced americano and iced lattes on a hot afternoon, if I had to pick one and stick to it forever I would go with hot coffee. Simply because cold coffees just can't replicate the creaminess of steamed milk in lattes and cappuccinos and the creaminess is quite important for me.
Ok now I see the iced latte. The only time one can get such here is the you go to the far shops in mall where you have somehow like foreign shops
Yes same here. It's nearly impossible to find specialty drinks like iced latte or americano on the local shops and we only get them at the big chain shops.
However,in the local shops we do get a generic "cold coffee" which is made from instant coffee. But I don’t really like it too much.
I think that coffee and hot food are inseparable companions and make a very good duo. Of course, without underestimating the delicious cold recipes.

Yes I agree there! Both cold and the hot variants have their perks that coffee freaks like us can't do without!
I totally understand what say about the creaminess. It's never the same with cold coffee; even when they put heavy cream im it, it's never the same.
I know right! The heavy cream tastes so artificial. It comes nowhere near a nicely steamed liquid milk!
Hot coffee becomes our number 1 fan, that's why we choose hot coffee.

You totally have to try cold brew coffee! It is awesome, especially when the weather is hot. I prefer cold brew coffee all the time in the summer days. You can also try espresso freddo! I can enjoy coffee hot or cold and it depends on situation. 👌

A cold coffee in the morning is not so appealing, but aah if we are shown a freshly brewed coffee with that lovely aroma our senses are activated. It's something magical 🤗☕

I love coffee hot and cold, but if I have to choose, I choose hot. We Venezuelans have a cup of hot coffee any time of the day no matter the weather. Every morning, I brew coffee in my moka pot.
My husband always wants a dash of coconut milk in his.
My first coffee has to be hot and black.
Otherwise, I feel like going back to bed.
My second coffee is hot too, a homemade coconut milk macchiato.
My coffee is hot 99% of the time for something, so I'd keep it that way 100% forever.
Cold coffee beverages are like a festive thing, occasional. I may order one at a coffee shop if I'm with my friends or family celebrating something. Only in that case, I like my cold coffee sweet and creamy... Ah, like frappuccino❤️🙈

I know the “religion” of coffee that you have in Venezuela. I think that there are many people from your country here on the platform and in our community. I think all the people will choose hot coffee over cold, but who knows… I don’t have a preference in general case, I can have both iced coffee and hot coffee. ☕️
Hot or cold, I love it. I wouldn't like to quit one if those for life. But I'm afraid you're right; my "religion" makes me choose hot coffee over ice coffee 😁

I can totally understand the absolute "need" for hot coffee you're talking about. Sometimes, on a very hot day,I will actually turn on the AC and cool my room just to enjoy a hot cup of coffee.
That's what I'm talking about. Some habits die hard. For example, I can't sleep without tucking myself in with a soft, cotton sheet, even if it's hot. My coffee, steaming, even if it's hot
I thought the part where you say That cold coffee is for special occasions, I see it that way too and it really lends itself to when we want to try something different to get out of the routine.

I haven't given it much thought before, but now I realize that, for a good while, frappuccino and affogato have been my picks for festive occasions--insyead of hot coffee. I'd just wish they had them lactose-free 😌
If I have to choose, I also prefer it hot. It is divine to wake up in the morning and inhale that wonderful and gratifying smell of freshly brewed coffee, I like it well charged, it activates your whole body, it is as if you were injected with energy.

If I have to choose now, it will be hot, just because this is the way I enjoy my coffee almost all the time. But… if it is cold it has to be some cold brew coffee, because coffee left on the table to cool down absorbs some oxygen, which spoils the good taste. Oxidized coffee can never be good. That’s why you should enjoy your coffee as fast as possible! 😁
And although I haven’t enjoyed some cold coffee soon, and I miss it, I will choose the hot coffee till the end of my days! ☕️

Some people don't care if their coffee gets cold, but for me it is important that the temperature of my coffee is just right, neither too hot nor too cold. That way I enjoy it better.

Like seriously, I've tasted both and the difference is clear. Coffee has lots of benefits. To many, it tastes good while hot, but it's regarded as acidic at that point. When it cools down, it's in an alkaline state, and most of the benefits works well in the body at that state, because our body works well in an alkaline state. Apart from that, iced coffee makes me feel more lively when taken in large quantity. The excitement makes me feel relaxed. Make it hot, allow to cool, then add ice, and thank me later 😂. Chill coffee all the way...
I recently read that hot coffee secretes a fat that makes the stomach produce more acid than normal, so when we overdo it with hot cups of coffee we feel some kind of acidity, according to the article, the best way to drink coffee is cold, as it is in an alkaline state and we take better advantage of its properties. But I prefer to take the risk hahaha. Hot is better.

Some time ago, I think 7 years or so, I spent a long period of 21 months in the hospital due to an oncological disease. To my sadness one of the restrictions was coffee.
I never understood why they took away the great pleasure of my life.
During that time I never felt at any time that my life was slipping away, even though I was really sick. But my positive mind made me think that as soon as I got out I was going to have coffee with my husband.
For the second birthday I spent in the hospital, my husband sneaked me out and invited me for a delicious cup of coffee. I knew I had to get out as soon as possible to live and enjoy the great pleasures of life.
If I had to choose, I would like it to be black coffee, hot, without any additives, unless it is cold, then I would add bitter chocolate.
It is sad to have to leave what you love so much for health reasons, but in those moments it must be done to continue on this path of life. Fortunately you were able to continue enjoying the delicious darkness that cheers us up in the mornings, I hope it will be like this for a long time to come.

It was a hard experience but the most gratifying thing is that now you can enjoy that pleasant aroma and taste so special, I believe that coffee without abuse is not harmful to health. Everything in moderation. Hugs @chacald.dcymt
I didn't know you had such a tough experience. That sure is life changing. I'm glad you won that battle; you look great and healthy. Now you can enjoy life's little pleasures, coffee included. I like the idea of bittersweet chocolate in ice coffee.
As a lover of good coffee, in my last days I would like to continue appreciating, tasting and smelling that rich, loaded coffee, without sugar, very hot in the mornings, so I want to spend my days enjoying the goodness that my elixir offers me. Just thinking about coffee brings back so many memories in all senses and emotions, it is not easy to change overnight without this beloved liquid, my days would be in agony if I could not taste it as I always like.
When I'm old, I want to continue to appreciate the aroma and taste of my hot coffee to the fullest, especially in the afternoons, when dopamine spikes and we're all more susceptible to nostalgia. When we're old, if we're lucky enough to reach old age, I hope there will be an app to write thought-to-text because with so much coffee, we'll have to try very hard to point our fingers on the touch screen, hahaha.

At the beginning of this week we come for the weekly conversation. Personally I like hot coffee, I think they are the winning couple and that one complements the other. There is nothing better than drinking a delicious hot and steaming coffee at the beginning of the day when we need that shot of energy and encouragement to face a new day full of challenges and joys.

Difficult choice ☕ I love coffee hot or cold 😃 ♨️ however if I have to choose I would take my hot espresso with milk and a touch of cinnamon or vanilla it's my favourite every morning, toasted bread makes me happy... 🙂
