It’s my Second time writing in this community and I am so excited about it. It’s been great here!!

“Hey Chelsea, the boss needs your attention in his office right now,” Skylar said, He was my assistant and I must say he has been doing a great job answering my calls as I feel grumpy every day.
I wasn’t this way decades ago, I was the most active staff in Hope Crystal Company, I came to work so happy, lively, and bubbly, that I keep asking myself where all that went. I knew what happened but I should save that thought first and see my boss so I could save my job.

I walked through the corridor and everywhere was quiet as everyone had gone for lunch, well I just realized it was lunchtime because Skylar said he was going to have his lunch after he delivered the information. I wonder how it was noon already, it wasn’t long since I got to the office. I have been reporting late these days as it takes me forever to get myself out of bed and get myself ready for the day. “You need to put yourself together,” I said aloud letting out a deep sign.

I got to his office, knocked, and went in.

“Hi Chelsea,” he said in his usual tone, A man in his 50’s very much young and ready to work more years.

I knew I was here for some queries.

“Have a sit” Mr Tony said with a smile.

“Thank you, sir, Skylar said you asked I see you immediately”

“Yes that’s true, there has been a change in your work for decades now since the climate issue started” He paused to take a sip of his tea, then continued.
“You have been dull, and gloomy and hardly make sales, I thought to give you some time thinking it’s the climate change and you’d adapt to it soon, but this is 2500 and there has been no change, you are my friend’s daughter and one of the best staffs we have, I would want to know what is going on,” He said, looking at me sternly.

At this point I was confused and kept asking myself if I should let him know what was going on with me, well he has been a father figure since I lost my dad so I should open up to him.

“Sir, it’s been decades and I know what I am about to say might look absurd but I can’t concentrate, I thought I could as time went on but I can’t. I am a lover of coffee, a coffee addict, I can’t start my day without having coffee, I feel depressed without it” I said, feeling better after saying it.

He looked at me, at this point I had no idea what was running through his head.

Finally, he smiled and said, “I understand how you feel, I felt so too when the coffee factories stopped running as a result of climate change.” He looked up and then said “I did a bulk order of coffee before everything started, I have just one pack left and I could give it to you, only if you promise to get yourself back on track afterward”

I was so happy, I just had to promise immediately, he handed me the pack and I ran off immediately to my office to make it. I tried not to spill even a little as this was my very last, till the climate change is over, which might not even happen.

I made it with so much joy, drank every bit of it slowly and it tasted heavenly. These few minutes were feel with happiness that I have longed for. I felt like a part of my life came back. Well, there is no way I am throwing this pack away, I neatly kept it in my locker, to take a glance at it, at least that will be better.
