All Till Dawn!

This prompt certainly sparks memories from the past, and not that far off either. I remember when I had just discovered the beauty of Anime, I could not have enough of it and would stay into the early hours of dawn, watching and indulging myself in the thrall of it all.

The first Anime I ever saw was Requiem of the Phantom. It was about a tourist who was taken and forced to live the life of an Assassin. It was quite interesting and I stayed all night watching the whole three seasons of it. Then, I had no idea that these “animations” were a genre of their own.

Later, I would hear about Naruto countless times and my then boyfriend would contribute to my dislike for it. Why? Way too hyped to be healthy. That was what I thought then. It wouldn’t help that I would hear it had over 200 episodes. Just made me stay away more but, what would make me like Anime, or more specifically, what would spark my interest in Anime would be the goated anime, Death Note.

To many, it isn’t much of all that and just way too full of unrealistic lies. Tell me what psychological thriller ever has foundations of truth. Yet, this particular Anime would stir my hunger and ignite my passion. I would come across many others and I would just stay up all night bingeing.

To be truthful, my stay up all night on fiction did not start with motion pictures. Books started it all, especially webnovels. I was taken with The Nation’s Husband and read 900+ chapters in a week or so. I hardly slept.

Then I would come across Full Marks Hidden Marriage: Pick Up A Son, Get A Free Husband, Trial Marriage, Mr. CEO Spoil Me Hundred Percent, Perfect Secret Love, Wife of a Whirlwind Marriage, God of Slaughter, The 99th Divorce, Genius Doctor: Black Belly Miss and so many more. I have favourites with Hidden Marriage and Nation’s Husband leading in a long list. Ning Xi will always be my favourite fictional character from Chinese Translated Novels.

These days though, I don’t have that mental strength or even the time to stay awake when I have to be up as early as 5am the next day. If I am up till 3am, best believe I am working.
