Overcoming Difficulties in August, Crop Update: Difficult Days and Determination Intact
These August days have been difficult, for many reasons, those who have been able to read my previous publications know it very well, from political and social problems in my country and even having to deal with cats who seek to do their needs in the plants, I do not want to talk much about that topic since I have found a partial solution that somehow has stopped that madness.
This morning I observed the plants which are in full bloom and in my opinion I could cut them at any time, for today they are 41 days in flowering phase, both the 9LB Hammer x Ignite as well as the White Widow, I like to cut a little earlier than normal, as I said the plants once cut continue maturing, plus I like the active effect of the plants and that happens when they are cut earlier.
The pictures I upload in the publications most of the time are recent and the ones I have attached in this publication are from this morning so you can have a clearer idea of the whole picture, what do you think? Are they ready to cut these plants tomorrow? or in a couple of days?
As the days go by the smell of the plants is more and more intense, especially at night and in the morning when they come in contact with the sun, I am very observant and I notice any detail, also something went a little wrong with one of the plants because it has some of the leaves brown but nothing so serious because as I said this plant is close to be cut and it is gratifying to be close to complete the growing cycle.
I am also a few days away from transplanting the Gelato I think it already has a decent growth and I think that in the pot in which it is, it will not be able to develop the roots better and requires a transplant soon, today I watered it only with water because it is very hot and when the substrate is a little dry in 4 or 5 days maximum 6 I will proceed to transplant and I must also buy the material to make the mixture, because the one I bought last time was exhausted with the transplant of the plants that I have in bloom at the moment.
Today I did not want to talk much about politics, I decided to concentrate on the details of the plants, the situation in my country remains the same, more repression, persecution and a dictator kidnapping power, people are still in resistance and international pressure is increasing because you can not steal the right of sovereignty to citizens who decided the change, there are many people deprived of liberty just for thinking differently and corrupt security agencies charge between $500 to $2,000 dollars to release the detainees, total madness, so the international support is vital during this time of pressure.
I hope to God everything improves in my country and globally, I continue working, advancing every day, despite the situation, I hope to cut the plants soon and I appreciate the support I have always given me in this community, I think WEB3 is the future that we are already living, enjoy this quality content, where I always maintain the status.

Hang in there buddy, at least you will have some bud to smoke.
Yes thanks for the support @canna-curate it seems incredible but I still have material from last season, the last of the buds, I do not understand how I did to last me so long, but I think that the citizens of my country could even survive on Mars with all the evidence of strength that has been sent to us with such a nefarious regime we are facing, if cannabis has been medicine for this whole situation and the process of growing is part of the therapy that has given me the fruits in this case the flowers.
Your cannabis plants look superb.
Maturation process after the cut is an insight that is important as I see it, and I am not sure how common of a consideration it is with cannabis cultivators. It would be illogical to assume maturation stops at the moment the plant is cut.
The trichome coverage is vast and thick, milky and turning amber in some areas. Your analysis of the harvest time is perfect in my opinion. This is when I would harvest. I prefer the earlier chop for the more active effects as well.
The political issues are disturbing to read about. It's unfathomable that we live in a world where none of us are truly free, tethered to an oppressive overlord always.
Stay vigilant and keep a low profile these days. Nice job overcoming difficulties and growing these beautiful cannabis plants.
Thanks bro, I'm glad we agree that cutting early is better when this happens you perceive the true vigor of the plants, in fact when we look at the trichomes at this point is also noticeable when more than 60% of the hairs are brown, and it would be good point to cut, if it is true very few growers agree on this, most often cut a little late when the effect of the plant is very narcotic and that heavy effect that puts you to sleep I do not like, unless you want to sleep and is not the case.
As far as politics is concerned, well you know it's a real madness what happens here and as you say you have to keep a low profile.
Growing cannabis like this in this day and age is both dangerous as well as a great privilege but with faith in God and caution I always stay safe.
I really appreciate not only your words of support that are comforting at this time, but also that observation as a grower of the optimal date for cutting, thanks again.
It's my pleasure bro, I admire the depth to your thinking regarding cannabis cultivation.
Much of this logic is disagreeable with many growers as you say, and I generally do not like to challenge growers with more experience than myself, but it is hard not to challenge when we know the late harvests create couch lock narcotic effects that are generally undesirable for all hours of the day except right before bed.
I don't expect the consensus to change amongst the majorities perception of harvest time, and we will remain the minority with this mindset. This might be influenced slightly with the fact that late harvests bring the "plump" that so many growers desire. Pushing her an extra seven to ten days might bring more weight. Quantity vs quality you can ask any grower and quality is the aim, but they will still be going after the "plump" anyway while claiming it would be a rookie mistake to harvest before the full weight potential arrives. Many growers just don't want to admit that the good stuff comes with sacrificing the extra weight ;D
60% brown pistil coverage would make most growers definitely cringe at the thought of harvesting , but this piques my interest a bit because I've generally kept with the 100% rule.
I have a Sativa dominant plant right now that calls for a 70 day flower time, currently at 49 days. Bud development is still rapid with about 40% brown. I'm wondering if 60 days will be the more appropriate harvest time, and am willing to bet that I'll be looking at 60-70% brown pistil coverage at this time.
I believe we will see a shift occur in the world during our lifetime where sovereignty will be obtainable, and those who've put forth this good work towards plant medicine will be rightfully regarded as assets to humanity. Thank you for the excellent conversation.
Buddy the truth is that this topic is very interesting and as you say we are a minority that bets on early harvesting, it would be interesting to put on the table different crops with different growers at some point and determine the difference between the effects of cutting early or cutting late, but it would have to be on different days, this conversation has given me an idea we should create a kind of forum on WEB3 also to discuss such matters.
If there are many experienced growers who usually cut late as you mention, they do not dare to cut early, for my part if I do not cut today, I will do it tomorrow but I do not think that these plants will pass the weekend. And I have become so used to cut early that when I see more than half of the brown pistils I feel a certain pressure to cut.
By the way I have been thinking about joining a decentralized social network called Farcaster, I don't know if you are already there? but it was for us to create a Cannabis community on that site, it could be interesting and we could raise much of the philosophy we have regarding this sacred plant that we also have to know how to use it because it has a very powerful energy, the truth as you say really this has been a nice and interesting conversation.
I think the main issue is, that your plants are growing vertically. 🤣
They always grow vertically unless you use the technique of the tie as I did last season that the plants were crossing the limits of the balcony, which this technique worked very well for me to control the height, but the problem is that cats love the land to do their needs but I have already placed some obstacles that I think will prevent this practice.
I wrote the wrong thing; I meant horizontally.
Because some of your photos are 90° rotated.
It was a bad joke, sry.
