Puzzle Of Life

(Edited)

Years ago I loved puzzles and still do, but life has kept me busy and there has never been enough time to finish such a big piece. I think I have 3 or 4 puzzles in my collection but the temptation is always high when I see a new one, so yesterday I gifted myself a puzzle, a big one that has 1000 pieces.

It's not the usual puzzle as the most wanted are photos of big cities, landscapes, animals and what not. This is a painting.

Once it's done, it's going to be a 73cm x 48.5cm painting on my table.

It wasn't brand new as those are expensive and I don't see why I should pay 10 times more. However, it looked brand new though and costed me 2 euro.

There's always the initial excitement, when you open a brand new puzzle and start working on it.

First the edges must be laid out, to help you start.

Puzzle Of Life

While I was looking for the pieces to do the edges and corners, I was thinking of a case that happened today. About a month ago I saw a post, in which the user was asking the community if we know anything about a certain condition. It wasn't something common like a cold, the diagnosis was a pretty particular one, even the name was difficult to remember if you were not involved in it.

Today during curating I came across a post that was about the same diagnosis. I was not 100% sure at first, so i had to check, but my mind is still sharp as it was about the same diagnosis. Obviously I wasn't happy to know someone else is suffering of the same illness but was happy to be able to connect them which may help in sharing information. When it comes to illnesses and cures, there's no such thing as too much information.

While I was doing the puzzle, I was thinking about how life is like a big puzzle. Every problem has a solution, you just have to find the missing piece and put it to its place. If you are skilled, you do it fast, if not, you most likely you will be spending a lot of time looking for the missing piece.

20221018_180825a.jpg

There's a high possibility you won't find the missing piece right away, you will try a few pieces that don't fit first.

Life is just like that. You try different solutions to different problems, that may not work, then you find a solution that fits like a glove.

The difference between puzzle and real life is that a puzzle game can be relaxing and fun. It helps me think of things I have to resolve, plans I have to make in real life, while solving problems in real life can be stressful and costy too. But in order to solve both, you have to put every single piece to its place. No cheating, no shortcuts, not half measures as those would ruin the big picture.

Back to my puzzle, it's going to keep me busy for a few weeks as time is limited, but I don't mind at all. Because this was kind of second hand as the outer packaging, the plastic was missing, there's a chance some pieces could be missing. However, that could not happen as there was still small cardboard particles in the box, that comes from the cutting.

I remember years ago people used to glue the pieces to a cardboard and frame the puzzle, then pin it to the wall, like a painting.

So, let's see who likes puzzles? Nowadays you have puzzle games on your phone. I have one too and can choose whatever image I like, but it's not the same, not by far. I still prefer the real one.

What about you? Do you have any puzzle games at home?

I have only seen a real puzzle once in my life and I did it successfully, I haven't had any since then.

Also, life really is a puzzle, everything will go well when the right piece is in it place.

Then you need to buy one for yourself and enjoy it :)

I love puzzles and I could spend a whole time trying to fit them but 1000pieces is breath taking😅

This is a huge one, please keep it from wasy from the reach of kids so that you don't end up turning in circles.

I love your idea of life as a puzzle, it so true what you have said, there's always a solution to fit in every problem. It only requires steadiness, critical thinking as well, observations too. Most times we just get tired of looking for the right match and tend to fix a mismatch for our problems. We fit wrong solution in a problem.

But it's a nice read, and I have learnt that there is always a solution to every problem although the search might be like scrambling through the 1000 pieces if puzzle.

Good luck on your puzzle journey and I would also love to see the result. T for Thanks🤗

I would love to have a puzzle of 5000 pieces, or 3000 at leas, but that would cover the whole table and would take me a few months to put it together 😁

Most times we just get tired of looking for the right match and tend to fix a mismatch for our problems. We fit wrong solution in a problem.

That is unfortunately true. We use shortcuts, half measures and then we are surprised things don't work out as they should.

But it's a nice read, and I have learnt that there is always a solution to every problem although the search might be like scrambling through the 1000 pieces if puzzle.

That is also true if you think of it. Neither is easy, but has to be done right.

Thanks for the good wishes, I'm going to come back with the result one day, hopefully :)

OMG 😱 . Is this real? This is the first time I'm seeing a puzzle puzzle 🧩 having so much pieces as this. It obviously requires lot of effort and patience in order for it to be completed.

Yes, it is very real 😁

This is not even the biggest one as there are 5000 pieces puzzles as well, but who on earth have space for that and time. With the daily rush, it would take me a month or two :)

This is one of the games we enjoy playing when we were young. But I never had a hundred puzzle pieces. It must be so challenging and a way to keep the mind sharp.

This is not a hundred, but a thousand pieces game 😃 You need a big table for this. And I agree, it is challenging, sometimes frustrating, but very exciting as well.

This is too big for my small head to put together I think, or maybe because it wasn't really my thing from the onset though. But I must truly confess you are a genius if you be able to put these pieces or more together... Much respect ✌️❤️

I will show you the final outcome. It is not difficult to put it together, you just need to follow the shapes and colors.

It's very easy for you to say because of the competence in it I guess ... Compared to a novice like me
I'm patiently waiting for the finishing, thanks 🙏🙏

Every problem has a solution, and every solution creates a new problem, and it goes on. C'est la vie.🙂

Jigsaws are great for the winter months, I guess it keeps the mind active and the eyesight sharp. Must be honest though I really only do WASGIJ ones that added element of no reference picture adds to the fun

I haven't tried doing puzzles like this. Now I find it interesting. Maybe one of these days, I'll buy one to have a new hobby.

1000 pieces for 2 EUR is such a bargain, wow! We used to solve a lot of these when we were kids, it was (still is I guess?) very popular in my country :) I think the biggest one we had was 3,000 pieces and yes, it took us months to finish it :)
