Mother Nature seems to have forgotten that there are more colors than only one - she has painted the whole mountain in Orange πŸ˜‰

Two days ago I have shown you an orangy photo at the end of the post from my hike on Monday. Well, there are even more of these kind of monochrome photos.

The sun didn't want me to see her rising on Monday and hid behind the clouds (Hike to the Black Lake / Schwarzsee), so I had to do something different and decided to search for nice Autumn colours.

But I have found only one color at my next destination, which was the Nockalm Road in the Nock Mountains, and that color was Orange.

Even the road was partly orange from the needles of the trees.

It was still very cloudy and a quite cold wind was blowing heavily. Later I have heard in the news that it began to snow, so the road had to be closed in the afternoon.

Autumn

Now when the time of fruit and grain is come
When apples hang above the orchard wall,
And from the tangle by the roadside stream
A scent of wild grapes fills the racy air,
Comes Autumn with her sunburnt caravan,
Like a long gypsy train with trappings gay
And tattered colors of the Orient,
Moving slow-footed through the dreamy hills.
The woods of Wilton at her coming wear
Tints of Bokhara and of Samarcand;
The maples glow with their Pompeian red,
The hickories with burnt Etruscan gold;
And while the crickets fife along her march,
Behind her banners burns the crimson sun.

I hope you don't mind such a lot of photos in one post, but it was a single trip and at the moment I just don't have the time to post that often, so I packed all images in a single post.

All my photos were shot with the Canon EOS R and one of these lenses: Canon RF 24-105mm f/4 L IS USM, Canon EF 70-200mm f/4 L IS II USM, Canon EF 16-35mm 1:4 L IS USM, Canon EF 50mm 1:1.8 L STM, SIGMA 105mm 1:2,8 DG MACRO HSM, SIGMA 150-600mm F5-6.3 DG OS HSM C.

I leave all EXIF and IPTC information stored in the pictures.

These are huge trees my friend - looks cool with the small people. We have such here too, but I'm no expert in trees - I am happy when I can distinguish deciduous trees from conifers.

Simply amazing photos and I imagined traveling on that road in the one photo Hannes.
Perfectly captured and the poem certainly enhanced my feelings as I looked at the lovely pictures!

Thank you Zac, that road is amazing to ride on the motorbike, but when the weather is nice it's not funny because there are thousands of bikes and cars and you have to take too much care about the others to have fun yourself.

Did I tell you that I hate traffic?
So the only time that I will ride on that road is at sunrise and sundown 🀣

I hate traffic too and luckily in the mornings when we drive to work the traffic leads towards the city and when we drive home the traffic is again on the other side of the road. That's one more positive side of working out of town πŸ˜ƒ

The weather was bad and so there haven't been many people on the road, that's true. It was cold and windy and later it even snowed.

Ah, over here we call it "running counter traffic" Hannes and stragely, we do the same.
Just not this morning, as I had a very bad night, maybe 3 hours sleep and at 6:30am we were on the road to a tyre business that is run by a friend at the airport.
I figured that thec traffic will only start at 8am, as most peaople start work at 9am.
What a mistake, as it's a national highway and a lot of traffic was on the road.

Bad weather is the best times to get out as most people are allergic to bad weather lol.

If you drive into our town between 7 and 8 am you will certainly stuck in traffic and the same will happen between about 4 and 6 pm when you drive out of town, but since we are only a small town it isn't that bad.

That's true and I love it most when the forecast says it would be bad, but then they are wrong and I have places for me alone πŸ˜‰

And when there's an accident it's even worse, as everyone slows down to "rubberneck" when they drive past the accident scene. Backing up traffic for miles. A normal 30 minute drive to the airport can take 2 hours when there's an accident.

Yeah, somtimes the weathercasters are wrong and it works in our favor lol.

Over here the medical people are robbed when they respond to call outs and people don't get fined for "rubbernecking". A real mess if you ask me.

Yes, that's even worse especially when they stop to take photos and videos.
Closer to Cape Town city, the traffic is very dense and that's why we seldom go there. Besides there is much more nature and animals in the rural areas and that's why we like it out here.
Far away from the maddening crowds!

I would have composed the last photo better, but there was the road right below the tree and the wind was strong and freezing, so I took this shot and rushed back in the warm car πŸ˜‰

Yes, it's quite high up in the mountains. Here in the valley we have had some snow already too, but this early snow lasts only for a few hours πŸ˜‰
The trees have changed their color to orange and since aalmost all trees are of the same kind the forests and mountains are now in orange :)

It has been cloudy yesterday, but today there are less clouds on the sky and the forecast says we are going to have a nice weekend with temperatures up to 18C πŸ”†

We are more lucky here, our trees just start to thrn yellow. Very warm and nice autumn this year.

But it is raining today. I was going to see scary trees in botanical garden, and not sure now shall i go or not.

Amazing orange mountains and gorgeous snow on the tops! Yeah! I love autumn with the colorful leaves and plenty of these orange trees can make the view much more fascinating. I would surely love to see these with my own eyes one day.... Great capture! ;)
