Hey community! I’ve been on Hive since the beginning, but have been focusing mostly on the SkateHive community.
However not long ago life decided it was time for me to change things up, so I quit my well paying job, sold everything I owned, and decided I would move halfway across Canada to get more involved in the longboard and skateboarding scene, and spread what SkateHive is capable of doing! I thought I had a place to live, and a new job lined up, but this ended up falling through as well! With the current economy I was having such a hard time finding a place to live, and a job that could actually afford rent in BC Canada. In the mean time I was staying on a friend’s couch for far too long, and he already had 12 roommates all crammed into this house! So they were not happy, and it was looking pretty grim!
Despite how bad things seemed to be going, I was still determined to chase my vision, so I went to a major longboard event, and that also included a week of camping. This got me off their couch, and got me filming longboarding like I wanted to. That’s when a friend I knew popped up on my feed, and he was sailing his sailboat near where I was. So I told him to come to the longboard event!
The event was amazing, but when it was time to go “home” , my friend offered a ride back via his sailboat! Never having sailed, ai jumped on the opportunity, and we set off on what ended up being 3 days of sailing, and stopping at wonderful destinations along the way. When we arrived back in Vancouver I didn’t want to get off the boat, but my friend wanted his personal space back, so I went back to my friends couch.
It was at this point I decided that I would buy a sailboat, and live in it like people do vans. Little did I know that this was already a thing called living abroad, and it’s actually a lifestyle that’s largely being oppressed around the world, almost like they don’t want people to live free. 🤔
Well I could go on, shopping g for, and getting my current boat was a whole adventure on its own! Basically I just saw a contest for pictures related to travel, and I figured I’d share how I travel with my home! Even crazier part, is the boat was paid for by 100% Hive, and it’s also how I’ve been supporting myself on this life style since I quit my job over a year ago. So obviously since I’ve started doing other things than skating, I’ve got the opportunity to get involved in other types of content! So I hope you all like boat pictures! 😂
Hey! This is a wonderful introduction, great to see you here and I really love the pictures and here comes just one quick question, how those relate to the topic of the contest "Windows"? ;)
Good luck and hope to see more entry of yours!
I completely missed that it was supposed to be about windows, and just saw travel contest. Figured all I do is travel, so this will be easy.
Ironically I have been doing a series a pictures of things I see out of my boat’s bathroom window. Here’s one of a little sailboat heading straight at me.
I can tell you're one happy person, having the chance to follow your dreams and heart, from those pictures!
Thank you!
Indeed, the theme of the contests is different every round, that seems to be challenging sometimes for some bloggers :)
Hi @travelcontest
This experiment based on a neoclassic building façade, tries to decrease the original pattern of the windows, integrating it in the center of the 'canvas'.
Unless stated otherwise, all the pictures and the words are mine.
