KANG TEBU: Nostalgic Drink Made From Natural Ingredients

Maybe we all have a nostalgic food or drink. Maybe because the food or drink has been present since childhood, or has a certain story.

I'm the same way... yesterday when I visited FX Sudirman, a mall close to the Gelora Bung Karno area. A friend and I made an appointment at the food court on the fifth floor. It was actually the first time I ate at this mall's food court. Surprisingly, the food court is not as crowded as other mall food courts. Maybe it's because there are many other eating areas around here too.

While my friend ordered the yamin noodles, I wandered around looking for the drinks menu. And I was attracted to a beverage tenant called Kang Tebu.

Have any of you ever consumed sugarcane straight after picking? Not waiting for a squeezing machine, but squeezing it directly in your own mouth> that's what I did during my time as a student in elementary school. Why did that happen? Because our school building was right next to a rice field area that was rented for years by a sugar factory company.

So, for years too, I was familiar with the lush and creepy sugar cane fields sometimes. However, there is a separate story when the sugar cane stalks have begun to grow, we students in elementary school have the initiative to take a few stalks to enjoy? Did we get permission? Hiks ... of course not. One of my childhood mischiefs: stealing sugarcane stalks.

Of course, this KANG TEBU cart at FX food court also triggered my memory. I ordered one mixed with songkit orange. I like sugarcane drinks because there is no artificial sugar content, aka, sugarcane of course has a natural sweetness.

Add in the fresh songkit oranges, and it's a sweet and refreshing drink with just the right amount of flavour. There are several other menus, but my choice from the start has fallen to Tebu and Songkit.

Paying only 25,000 rupiah for each cup, I was already enjoying a refreshingly nostalgic drink.

I then enjoyed the evening with a portion of yamin noodles, a sip of sugarcane juice and songkit as well as a pleasant chat with my friend.
I then decided to go home when it was 10pm.

Thank you for reading, happy new year and may you all be happy wherever you are.
