My Father's Memories - His Garden At Home

(Edited)

We lived in a province before where our parent raised us up through farming. We didn't buy foods to eat and even my father went to the sea to have some fresh fishes. We were blessed living not only in the mountain but 2kilometers away from the sea where we could find fresh sea shells and fishes.

Our place, our home was not in good position since it was damaged by the strong earthquakes and hurricane.

Another source of income is the cacao who gave us pure chocolate drinks and sell it when we have a lot of harvest. Our second sources of income aside from planting corn and vegetable in the farmland.

*Basic vegetable and spices were being planted in the backyard for easy access everytime we cooked our foods. My father knew how grew plant because he had a green thumbs. Whatever he wanted to plant, it grew quickly and had a good return and could sell some harvest from those plants.

Pet lover

He had 7 cats that he took care upon the request of my sister who is a midwife and cat lovers. She was the one who suppprt for the cat foods. So sad that I deleted some of my picture in the gallery and never find the cat's photography.

Sport Lovers

He didn't know how to play basketball but he loved watching NBA and PBA league. My father had a poor audio and didn't hear anything unless spoken gently. He became a little deaf due to hard working during his younger time. When watching and listening the NBA games, he made highest volume of the smart tv. Our neighborhood understand him most of the time. He also share his harvest to our neighbor and permit everyone to harvest whatever they wanted. He is a good father to us and taught us how to be strong.

Just sharing the garden of my father today and more stories about our 2022 meetup together at home, not thinking that I was our last meeting.

Walking in the garden of my father made an important part of my vacation. I don't know when I come back again. My parent had gone but the teaching they left to us on how they raised up us is an unforgettable matter to our life. We miss you my father and mother now in heaven.

Thank you @asean.hive for allowing us to share any kind of stories about our life. You became a part of my 2022 homecoming there in the Philippines. My post for #wednesdaywalk by @tattoodjay and #makemesmile by @elizacheng.

The scenery of the village there is very similar to where I am because of course we live in a tropical area. Thanks for sharing so I know more about it firsthand

Cocoa yields also great when the trees bear fruit.

Your father is a great man, Ate!

I adore living in the countryside, where there is ample space to grow crops. I admire sustainable systems where you can gather food from your own plants rather than having to go to the market to buy it.

Such a lovely garden. I’m sure you have so many good memories of your father. I love the principle of eating what you’ve grown. Hope you’ll be able to continue visiting and keep the memories alive.
