Hello everyone. Today is sunday, we are not going anywhere. So my wife has free time to cook at home. Before my wife cooks, she always walks around the home garden to look at the vegetables. This time too, the wife was walking around the garden and she wanted to cook the northern vegetables curry with roast pork. This menu item in northern of Thailand is called Kaeng Khae. Northern vegetable curry is a curry with many vegetables. And you can use any type of vegetable to cook this menu. This time the wife harvested many vegetables in the home garden to cook. What vegetables do she harvest to cook northern vegetable curry with roasted pork? Take a look.
The first vegetable my wife harvested from the home garden was gurmar. Northern thai people call this vegetable : Chiang Da.
The second vegetable she harvested was croton.
The third vegetable she harvested was culantro.
The fourth vegetable she harvested was holy basil.
The fifth vegetable she harvested was coriander.
The sixth vegetable she harvested was chaya.
The seventh vegetable she harvested was gac young leaves.
The eighth vegetable she harvested was yard longbean.
The ninth vegetable she harvested was acacia pennata.
The tenth vegetable she harvested was green brinjal.
The eleventh vegetable she harvested was wildbetal leafbush.
The twelfth vegetable she harvested was spring onion.
The thirteenth vegetable she harvested was lemon grass.
The last vegetable she harvested was galangal.
These were all the vegetables she harvested to cook the northern vegetable curry with roasted pork.
Ingredients for northern vegetable curry with roasted pork.
- gurmar
- croton
- culantro
- holy basil
- chaya
- gac
- yard longbean
- acacia pennata
- green brinjal
- wildbetal leafbush
- spring onion
- lemon grass
- galangal
- pork
- shrimp paste
- shallots
- cayenne pepper
- pork flavour seasoning powder
How to cook northern vegetable curry with roasted pork.
Step 1: Roast the pork in a pan until cooked, then cut the pork into pieces.
Step 2 : Pound the galangal, lemongrass, cayenne pepper and shrimp paste until mixed to make the curry paste.
The cut roasted pork and curry paste.
Step 3 : Put the curry paste in the pot and stir-fry until the curry paste is cooked and fragrant.
Step 4 : put the cut roast pork to the pot and stir-fry with the curry paste.
Step 5 : Put water in a pot and boil the water. Season with pork flavour seasoning powder. Then cut all the vegetables into pieces.
Step 6 : When the water is boiling, put all the cut vegetables in the pot and boil until all the vegetables are cooked.
When all the vegetables are cooked, turn off the gas stove. Done northern vegetable curry with roasted pork.
In addition to the northern vegetable curry with roasted pork, the wife also fries fish balls to eat.
