How important is the support of your family when starting a business (ENG/ESP)

Hi Hivers,
I come again to share something that it's been holding be back from starting my own business: my family.
Like many of us, I have been educated in this system to become an employee. Not to be an artist or an entrepreneur but an employee. Since I was little I wanted to have my own business. To the typical question of "what would you if you would win the lottery?" I have always reply the same: starting my own business.
Thanks to the Internet, nowadays is possible to start a business with little or no investment. So of course like many of us I am using this chance to create what I feel I want to create.
But I realize that something is keeping away from success is my family. I remember that the first time that I heard about this was when I got a Akashic Record reading, but to be honest I didn't pay much attention.
A couple of hours ago I talked to my mother and I told her that I sold my first online course and her reply was: "Does this give you money?" If I go back to when I started as a freelancer her first response was: "you are not going to make a living writing articles in the Internet". And I keep continue going back to my childhood when I wanted to take drawing classes instead of maths and physics and she made the choice for me to maths and physics because "artists don't make enough money to buy food".
I know that she doesn't do it with bad intentions. I also know that this is coming from oldest generations than my mother. But what I don't know is how to deal with it.
Of course I get angry when I listen to these comments. And I tell her. She says that she supports me, but subconsciously she doesn't. Otherwise her responses to my achievements would be different.
I know that I am not the only one here with the same conditioning. I have seen videos of others entrepreneurs who describe similar situations. And since I am also aware of the important role that our subconscious mind play with everything in our lives, I came to realize that this is one of the points when you can sabotage your own success if you have grown up with these kind of believes.
So the intentions of my post here are:
- To bring awareness. If you are a mother or father be aware of how these comments might affect your child's success. If you have tried previously to run your business but you feel that you have not have had the success you wanted, think about this. Really think about what your family think about having your own business and if this is subconsciously affecting your own success.
- To ask for book recommendations. Maybe you know some author who speak about this and you can recommend a book or other form of information.
I appreciate your time and I wish you a lot of success in whatever you are creating 💖
Hola Hivers,

Oh God! I know the feeling very well as have been in this situation with many other millions in the world. They were brought up in a different world and choosing safety has always been their priority.
I can't recommend you any books as my policy is work out what it's best for you, but I can tell you, the only way to break free is to make the move. Once they see you're doing well they will change their minds. It's not going to be easy and you're going to face a lot of hardship, but it's the only way.
Anyway, good luck and follow your dreams, don't let others make you follow their dreams.
Yes, you are so right! Actually today has happened something unexpected that has given me again the strength to keep following my dreams 😉 Thank you for your message and support 💖
I'm glad to hear that 🤗
This is good. I have an online business and have been supported by my family when it got off the ground. Now that support is mostly emotional.
I'm very happy for you :) You are very lucky to count with that support 💖
Saludos cariñosos, me encantó tu post.

I remember the first business I started back in my childhood days, it was actually the strong backing of my family that keep me going and till now I still appreciate them for that because I tend to learn a lot from the business
I'm glad to hear that you could count with your family support 💖
We're told we can't succeed as entrepreneurs or as owners of our own businesses by people who themselves have not been entrepreneurs or owners of their own businesses-- or those people have tried it and themselves failed at it.
As well-meaning as these people are, are those really the people we should be seeking for advice in this particular area? I say no. Instead, we need to find people who are in the position where we want to be. What did these people do to get to where we want to be in a few weeks / months / years from now?
We should always aim for the stars because even if we reach "only" the moon, that's further than most people have gone.
Most of us think of succeeding as entrepreneurs in the same way we think o winning the lottery: we want to win that huge jackpot. The problem with that is that there is just one huge jackpot; once it is won, that's it, it's gone. It's a numbers game, so we need to figure out how to make the numbers work in our favor even as we aim for the stars. Instead of trying to hit all 6 numbers once, we should work on hitting 4 numbers repeatedly and regularly. We may not win all the time, but we will win more often with 4 numbers than with 6 numbers. (Check your local lottery for the prize stats for hitting
X
numbers.)I'm not a parent, so I can't answer your 1st question. I don't have any book recommendations, so I can't answer the 2nd question. I just wanted to share a few thoughts I had as prompted by your post. You're doing more than many other people when it comes to being an entrepreneur, so I just want to wish you continued success as you keep moving forward.
