Beach Plum Liqueur!

I love Cape Cod, there is so much to offer and such an amazing climate for my gardens. the sandy, well draining, slightly acidic soil is wonderful for certain types of fruits growing. At the beach, there are dozens and dozens of Beach Plum Bushes growing and this year, I picked an over abundance!

I've planted my own shrubs now, and will have to wait for a few years until they actually bear enough fruit for me to enjoy. For now, I am walking the end of my street, to harvest what I needs.

I laughed when I saw the random Golden Peas... I clearly just picked these, when I walked into the house, and was snacking as I made my jelly and liqueur.

I picked lots of tiny plums for Jelly making and had plenty left over for making some Beach Plum Liqueur. This video shows you how I take the Beach Plums from Berry to A Sweet Tasty Liqueur. This video shows you how I take the local Beach Plums: From Plum to A Sweet Tasty Liqueur.

Please let me know in the comments, do you make jellies, jams, or Liqueur? Let me know, below! My gardens are in Zone 7a/7b in New England, US.

Watch below, to see how I went from picking berries, to a sweet tasting dessert liqueur, and sauce for cooking!

Most of you know, I prefer to grow my own food, locally. It's healthier for my family, and for the planet. I know what goes into my foods, and what chemicals are NOT in my food. Also, It cuts down on carbon emissions, less trucking, planes, trains, and boats, to get fresh foods to my table.

And that makes me smile... better for the planet, better for my own family.

Fixed. Damn, it's always one tiny detail!!! LOL
I make a lot of things with raspberry, strawberry, and even some w/ cherry... IRONY ALERT: I actually don't like those fruits! My kids love them, tho...

So, BEACH PLUM anything wins for me!
As a sipping dessert drink, I prefer with the Congnac. Or, even for use over ice cream, but when I cook, I use the straight Beach Plum Liqueur (Like a glaze for a roast beef, a roast turkey, etc)

The video doesn't work for me. I'm a bit jealous that you can grow these beach plums. But I also wonder why you do, if you have an abundance just down the street from you. I watched an earlier video of yours just now, in which I can see how much you love tomatoes! I had decided to plant three and only three tomato plants this coming season in New York, but I may have to add one more - white tomatoes!
