Terraria Adventure: It keeps getting challenging!

Hello and Welcome back to my blog!

Exploring and mining in the caves of Terraria has been fun. We have found a lot of useful ores and items. One of the rarest ones so far is the crimtane ore which is found deep inside the caves in small chunks only. These couldn't be mined with our weak pickaxes but once we made the Platinum pickaxes they were mineable.

I found an Enchanted Sword which dealt 23 melee damage and shoots a beam that works like a ranged weapon as well. This ranged attack shoots a glowing sword which gives off light too.

But for this, we had gone to the depths of our world. For the first time, we saw the lava in our world. We had to make a few tests and see how much damage it does. Well, it does a lot of damage and burns you for a while too. Not recommend swimming in it lol.

But the pet racoon was chilling in the lava xD.

We found an interesting-looking tree growing in this biome. It dropped a gem corn which can be planted again on this rock. I planted it again there not knowing if it would even grow back or how much time it would take.

We kept finding more underground houses and repairing them. Almost all of the underground buildings are in ruins and we try to repair them and make them our temporary base where we smelt all the ores, make new armour or tools and put extra loot in the chest to take it back if we want.

When we log out and come back again it spawns us in our house which is on top of the default spawn location of the world. We occasionally go out on the surface exploring other biomes and finding some interesting items in chests.

I upgraded my axe with the cool new Crimtane bars. This axe is called the Blood Lust Cluster. What a cool name, all of the items made from these crimtane bars have these interesting names.

Also, for some reason, @bemier is now a bride. She found this bridal set in one of the chests (I think) and she liked it so much that she equipped it.

We kept exploring more and finding more heart crystals. There are some traps in these caves as well. One time we were killed by boulders which got triggered after opening a chest. Both of us were killed by these. One of them dealt like 13 hearts of damage and two were enough to kill both of us lol.

We found another interesting enemy when we were looting a house in the caves. This was a golem which attacked Beril and she defeated it. It drops Granite and we were not sure where it came from. But just on the left side of this house was a new biome with granite all over it and there were a lot more of these.

We found another one of those gem trees and mined it. We also took a lot of obsidian from this place. Making the water channel on top of the lava to make obsidian was a bit challenging.

Fighting these Granite golems and bats on top of a platform over lava is not a good idea. We found it the hard way. I think the damage made us fall into the lava and I quickly came out but Beril panicked and took too long to come out and died there. These lava pools are not a safe place to fight.

The next biome was even more deadlier. It didn't have any lava as we went a bit up but it had a lot of bugs. This looked like a desert biome and so many creepy crawling and flying insects were here ready to eat you up. It feels like the game increased the difficulty after we killed the Eye of Cthulu or is it just because we had better gear and were so deep underground?

There are always these ruined houses wherever you go. We didn't find such a house in the last granite biome. We were getting sick of repairing these houses. There were too many to spend our time and energy on. But they always had a chest filled with good loot.

There was a new NPC that was roaming in this biome. A golfer who was selling a lot of golfing-related stuff. I never knew this game had all these items too. He was selling many types of clubs, balls, flags and even a lawn mover. Maybe we will create a golf course once we decide to settle down somewhere and finish our exploration. Would be a fun activity and will be really interesting to see how it all works.

The more I explore and find out stuff, the more I get a sense of the scale of this game. It has a lot of items. So many that we are having trouble organising and keeping track of all of them.

Until next time...

How cool is that in games in general, temporary bases are a nice experience, you are away from your main base and need to recondition your equipment and sort your inventory. Plus when you continue on your way and at another time you come across that abandoned base again, the memories come back to your head and you can use it again.
With some friends I played Terraria at the time but the truth is that there are many things to learn.
