Best Passive Investment In Splinterlands?

For as long as we have played Splinterlands the tokens we earn in game comes down to DEC, SPS and Vouchers. Today we will mainly focus on SPS and in what ways we can earn the most with the least amount of effort and capital. We will look at multiple options and I will tell you which one is the best for returning on investments.

Staking SPS

The most easiest way to earn is simply staking sps in game. This yields a decent +13% apy and in addition you can rent out your staked sps for DEC. It is easy to get just keep track of your staked sps rentals and occasional claim your sps rewards.

There is another benefit in that both earned sps and Dec with the use of staked sps are liquid rewards. Therefore you can immediately use the rewards as you so choose to please to do with them without having to unstake.

On the drawback it is clear a yearly apy of just over 13% is not going to bring immediate wealth like many who invest in crypto is hoping for. Hence staking sps for income although is easy it is not the best return on investments.

Battles / Brawls / Tournaments

A more common way of earning sps is simply through playing the game. Whether it is through rank battles, guild brawls, or tournaments the battles all have potential rewards for winning.

There are several drawbacks with this method of earning. First one needs to be heavily invested in good cards in order to win battles. Furthermore this method is the least passive when it comes to earning income. Essentially no income unless we be playing battles.

The sps yield is limited base on competition. Top players likely yield a ton of sps with wins while the rest live for scraps.

I do t have the exact numbers but have seen on average I am earning around 0.7 sps per a win in gold league.

This approach of earning sps is very inefficient since I need to stay active and perform well in order to be rewarded. The reward itself is small compare to the percentage of investment in cards. The roi in this method is terrible.

Even if we do brawls or tournaments they are dependent heavily on what cards are being used. Again this method is time consuming and labor intensive.

Liquidity Pools

This method is much more passive than playing battles. You basically need to stake liquidity of two assets.

Provide liquidity allows transfer of funds accessible to more users. There is also the ease of simply claiming sps as quickly as a hourly basis.

Segway into earning sps in nodes and renting out cards. These are also good ways to earn passive income but will likely be less than 13% from simply staking sps.

Land

Playing the land expansion will also yield us SPS. The resources required to earned sps is very similar to playing battles. The need to use cards and stake Dec to pay of the land expansion is costly so this option is not best roi.

Nightmare

Out of all the different options we have discussed so far the one that uses the lease amazing but of capital but still earn sps daily is to purchase and hold nightmare booster packs in game.

The cost per a pack is slightly above 5 hives but best estimate it takes about 15 packs to earn 1 sps. A great low price of around 75 hive to 1 sps. This is simply the most cost effective way to passively earn sps.

On the other hand this method is time limited. For instance once Soulkeep is active the Nightmare packs will no longer earn daily sps. So not to say it’s perfect to simply just own packs to earn sps but definitely something to keep In mind.

Conclusions

Who would have thought that buying and storing booster packs is best return on invests? Things can change on a dime but for now since Soulkeep remains in development. Now what do you think? What makes the most in game tokens with limited capital.
