Daarg Deadblast - Another great buy
As a big fan of Weapons Training, I’m trying to get my hands on those creatures that have this ability. My favorite has always been Rage, but after getting beat up by teams including Daarg Deadblast quite a few times, I looked more into this card.
Stats
Daarg costs 7 Mana to summon, has Weapons Training for 2 Magic Damage right from the beginning, as well as Swiftness - right from the start, he's a great supporter + attacker. On LVL 2, he gets Triage - making him more of a supporter. On LVL 3 he gets Dodge, which one first questions - but it actually helps nicely in "Slowest is the Fastest"-Rulesets. On LVL he finally gets another attack point, which will be passed on to the trained adjacent units.
Market
Daarg is not cheap, 1 BCX is usually around $15 - I used the new @splintertrends feature of creating a watchlist and snagged a copy at $14.15 - and am now waiting (and saving) to get another two BCX, since the Triage ability is actually a nice feature. Patience. A lot of it.

This is a Gold League Modern Tournament match - high rollers!
Here I use one of my favorite combinations that have caused me many troubles in the past - using two Weapons Training monsters. Melee Mayhem lets all Melee monsters attack from anywhere, so it makes sense to use the Kulu Mastermind and Daarg to give the Guardian double attack:
On first glance, I seem to have the disadvantage due to the differences in the level of monsters, but in this case, it depends on the strategy.
The opponent seems to be anticipating a strong melee team (correctly), and bringing 2 strong magic attack monsters - it's good that I have Baakjira as second monster, with his Void and Heal.
We both choose the same summoner - Trample is very strong in Melee-Mayhem! And the extra life points go great with Heal and Tank Heal. The reach doesn't matter here.
Damage count: 6 magic damage and 14 melee damage on my side, 19 melee (counting the double strike) and 7 magic damage - looks good for the opponent!
Good thing - I get Arkemis down in the first round, due to the Speed-Advantage provided by Daarg, giving me a trample as well. That little advantage levels the battlefield rather quickly, and I get a nice win.

Another Gold League Modern Tournament - I'm glad I bought Daarg!
The main difference in line-ups that the opponent goes for the Coeurl Lurker (which has Phase, not good for me!), while I go for Daarg with the Guardian and the Chaos Agent. Since it's an Explosion-Ruleset, I also bring in the Chaos Adjutant - due to it's Scattershot, it can attack behind enemy lines and do more Explosion-Damage.
Even though the Lurker phases a lot, I still manage to win this round - again thanks to a speed boost and the weapons training, which makes it possible for my monsters to hit the Lurker enough to get it down before my team goes down from the Pelacor Bandit's attacks.
Conclusion
Daard Deadblast is a very great addition to my team, and to my style of playing this game. Its support in the back lines is extra-ordinary, and it will be worth the money that I have to spend on him - hopefully, the card will also appreciate in value over time.
By the way, I made 263 SPS on in that Tournament, partially thanks to Daarg - so I already got around 15% back :-)
