Drawing Xolo in attack mode.
In the last months I have made drawings of some of the fantastic creatures (Holozing), so this time it was the turn to make Xolo, this is one of the new creatures of Holozing. The idea was to depict him in a different style and pose.
Created in Ibis Paint X. Gif: Inshot.
Creation process.
Steps #1 and #2.
- Again I used Ibis paint to make this creation, the first step was to make the main strokes of the head, so I tried to imitate the original design, but with a difference in one of the sizes of the ears and in the position of some of the edges of the head, but it was quite similar.
- In the second step, the idea was to give it a more aggressive posture. Where it reflects a battle stance, but keeping the style of the original design.
Steps #3 and #4.
In this step I finished adding basic strokes, besides highlighting the eyes with thicker black strokes, but I also added the base colors of the drawing. In the original design, Xolo has yellow hind legs and blue front legs, so I added some details in the same color. I also kept the colors of the tail, although the design in my drawing is different.
I also made a shading and brightness in the main parts of xolo, from the chest, front and hind legs and in the head and ears.
Final step.
Before finishing, I added more shading and glitter to Xolo, I also changed the background color this time to blue and light blue. But he still needed to look a little more alive, so I gave him a little more balance and relief. I also added a small effect of battle blows. Not only that, I made a GIF with more effects and simulating the blow of Xolo.
Conclusion.
For me, it was quite fun and entertaining to draw Xolo, since trying to keep the original design and give him another posture required to make it from scratch, but still I could keep the essence of the original design in my drawing.
