Discovering Hive | A platform for learning, Growth and connection LOH #227
I'm writing this with a big smile on my face, reminiscing about how I discovered Hive. It was sometime last year, around May 2024, when I joined the Hive community. Here's the backstory on how I got started.
One evening, after returning from work, my mom and I were having a mother-daughter conversation. We were sharing stories about our day when she mentioned making a new friend at her store. She told me about this friend, and that's when things got interesting.
My mom's friend writes articles for a living. Although I wasn't surprised, having heard of ghostwriting, I wasn't interested at first. My job wouldn't allow me the time to start writing. However, my mom had already given her friend my number, thinking I'd be interested.
Her friend, Beauty197, contacted me on WhatsApp and introduced herself. I asked her to explain the writing opportunity, and she told me about Hive, a web3 blogging platform. When I heard "web3," I knew it was crypto-related, and I lost interest initially, knowing nothing about crypto.
Beauty197 assured me it wasn't difficult, and I became curious, wanting to learn more about Hive and blockchain. She explained how Hive works, allowing users to write, earn money, learn new things, and meet new people. I love learning, so I started developing an interest.
I asked Beauty197 about the financial aspect, and she mentioned getting paid in HBD, a crypto token. At the time, I had limited knowledge of cryptocurrency. When she explained Hive's rules, such as no AI-generated posts and no plagiarism, I didn't see those as challenges.
My only concern was creating content, as I struggled to write 300-700 words. It seemed daunting, especially with my tight schedule. Beauty197 was patient and explained that I could write about anything, from opinions to lifestyle, and even participate in weekly prompts. This was when i got interested, i wanted to start writing immediately .She signed me up and that was how i joined hive.
What made me join hive
I joined Hive because I was drawn to its unique community-driven platform. As a curious individual, I wanted to learn more about cryptocurrency, lifestyle, and various topics that interest me. Hive's blogging communities provides a wealth of information and insights from diverse perspectives, allowing me to expand my knowledge and broaden my horizons.
What I love most about Hive is the freedom to express my opinions without fear of judgment. In today's world, it's refreshing to find a platform where individuals can share their thoughts and ideas openly, without worrying about censorship or ridicule. Hive's supportive community encourages engagement, discussion, and debate, fostering a culture of mutual respect and understanding.
Another reason I joined Hive is to connect with like-minded individuals who share my passions and interests. The platform provides a unique opportunity to engage with people from all over the world, learning from their experiences and gaining new insights. Whether it's discussing the latest crypto trends or sharing lifestyle tips, communities on Hive is always eager to share knowledge and support one another.
Overall, I'm thrilled to be a part of the Hive Blockchain, where I can learn, grow, and connect with others who share my interests. With its unique blend of education, self-expression, and community engagement, Hive offers a refreshing alternative to traditional social media platforms. I'm excited to see what the future holds for Hive and its communities.

And I think that Smile is what I had on my face when I first got here to 😁 and even tho writing many words and trying to find your way here can be overwhelming at first, it is worth it.
And it is refreshing to be able to write whatever you want and how you want without anyone judging you.

Yes I hope we learn and grow together. I also found the 300 word to 700 daunting. I could barely keep up but now I try to just allow my mind do it's thing
This is how i have been coping to write everyday despite my busy schedule, i think about the topic to write about and then I'd go with the flow

You mentioned about ghostwriting, I've always been interested in it but yet to do proper research, can you enlighten me more on it?
Well, i don't really know much about ghost writing, I've never done it it before.
I remember mine too.. it's was late 2017 I was just returning from work, and a friend called me and said "hey I found a place where we can do stuff together" the rest is history

Yea. It was really overwhelming with the amount of words to be written but you found myself wanting to come to this platform due to the wonderful people I met and what does coming to chat and not write a post that would earn me money? Hence encourages me to write. Although have not been able to write everyday but am getting better every time I write .
Initially i wasn't writing everyday, i find it difficult to consistently write every single day. Try to set goals for yourself, as time goes on you'd figure that you'd need to write everyday, by that time you won't be overwhelmed by the words to write.
So you heard about Hive from your Mom's friend, but I am glad that you are happy to be here.
