Ladies of Hive Community Contest #182 - Creating a Work Life Balance
@LadiesofHive - Contest #182 questions are:
1️⃣ How do you handle job stress? Do you deal with it well, or at some point has it generated some health discomfort or problems within the family? Would you prefer to do your office work from home?
~ 𝐀𝐍𝐃 / 𝐎𝐑 ~
2️⃣ Contrary to question 1, despite how strong your work may be, do you take it as an escape from the everyday tasks of the home?
Job stress is inevitable. Once you are in a job at some point or another you are going to be in a stressful situation. Those, meetings, reporting's, deadlines, target ls, annual appraisal, performance management, it's all like shooting at you. Well for me, I am an HR and people say we don't take stress, rather we give stress. That's not true, being an HR and making all the decisions for an employee is the most stressful because you need to ensure that you do not make any unfair decisions for an employee.
Now I no longer work in a full-time job but in the past, I have a long working history. The companies I worked were the top-tier companies like Accenture and TCS and so was the stress at top level. I would make it a point to never bring that stress home. I had some work rules set for myself since that time my Son was also small and I had to ensure he also gets good quality sufficient time from me.
One thing I made sure was that I reported to work on time and left sharp on time. Some of my colleagues would come late and then leave late and when I would leave on time, they would pass comments like, I am leaving early. I would have very clear communication with all my bosses and always let them know my limitations. I would make sure that there would never be slack in my work. I would make sure to be disciplined in my work and behavior and with that I always could draw my boundaries and that helped me lot with work life balance.
This is one thing I strongly believe that if you work with full commitment in your working hours then you will find yourself less in stressful situations. I had to work long hours on many days but that would not create any stress or pressure on me because I would always keep it in mind that it was just about completing that job. Saying all of that, it is impossible to not get stressed out at certain times with extremely challenging timelines. But come may whatever I would not bring that home. Once I left office it would leave there itself
When I was working, there were times when I wanted to be home and enjoy the home life, specially because my son was also small and I was missing many moments with him. But at the same time doing the house chores was never my cup of tea. Thinking of doing the daily cooking was the most dreadful. I any day preferred to be at work then home, I found it more difficult to do the house work then my job. Till today I have the same feeling. Though now I am not fully working nor full time at home, it's a mix of both life and I am enjoying this.
Thank you for visiting my blog. 👼🏻👼🏻💖💖🌹🌺🌸
I love the fact that you are an early bird at work. It makes so much sense so you’d leave work on time and go home to meet your family
That’s the best
A lot of the young guys come in late and then they sit till late, from which half the time they would keep going on tea and smoke breaks, but they pretend to work long hours. This is a culture that the bosses should not accept because it spoils the environment for the sincere ones at the work place
Showing up early really makes a difference. Your get a lot of spare time
That's true, it prepares us well for the day
Nice questions. Wanna try to join
I agree with you, we should be responsible enough when it comes to our commitment to our work to help us lesses the stress. We should finish the all tasks on the right time and it's specific place. When it's a work in the office, work in the office, and never go home to work again. Focus, and balance all the work 🥰
If the day is planned well then I feel that it always goes well completing all the tasks, a few days it can go haywire but largely it will be good
Stress is indeed inevitable, especially in a work environment. I think sometimes , it finds us when we least expect it, and this can take a toll and spill out into other aspects of our life. Nowadays, we more flexible work hours, achieving some sort of work life balance has become easier, we just need to be a bit disciplined about it.
You know what, this work from home thing, which is very convenient but I always feel I end up working more hours then what I would normally do in office
I love the fact that you are always punctual and it's makes the work easier because you'll be able to finish your work on time and leave on time without any issues.
Discipline always helps and it keeps us organized
You have everything so clear my friend, enjoying life is the most important thing, making clear the limits you have with your bosses will also avoid future problems, and being responsible in our work will surely give good results. Thank you for participating, hugs and blessings.
I have always believed in setting right expectations at the job and working with high standards where my work can speak for me and not the number of hours I spend in office.
When we sit and work in the office, we meet a lot of people, some of whom we even get angry with, but we understand that they are our customers and a form of God. I am always involved in household work.Because my wife always works alone, so I help her a bit because she is also doing my household work.
These days it is important for both the partners to manage household activities equally

Thank you @sacra97
One interesting I learned from your blog post was letting your boss knows your limit.
I think I'll buy into this idea of yours.
Thanks for sharing sis
It's always very important to do that
