A cute rock'n roll story: Metal lords

As I stated in my last review post about The dirt movie, I watched this movie before The dirt. Another movie that brings rock'n roll as a subject, more specifically in the heavy metal genre. It was good to publish before the review from The dirt since it brings the more classic view about what is a rock'n roll band's lifestyle. Here in Metal lords it brings what I think it is the renewal of this lifestyle, maybe a 21st century point of view stating that drugs are bad and having multiple sex partners is also something that can bring some problems.

The movie brings some good Easter eggs for the metal fans, classic metal musics that the kids play while training and also as the soundtrack. You can find Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, Metallica, even Pantera in there. In addition to that the funniest part of the movie brought some metal icons into the movie!

That big magic moment occurred exactly at the moment that the drummer Kevin and one of the main characters from the movie from the band is in the pool with a hot girl that wants to give it all to him, while he was in love with the bass player Emilly (or cello player in this case) from his band.
What happens is that Kirk Hammet (Metallica), Ian Scott (Anthrax), the "grandpa" Rob Halford (Judas Priest) and Tom Morello (Rage Against the Machine) show up as his conscience and start to debate about the moral and ethics of the moment. In the end he gives up of going forward with the hot girl and runs away from the pool.

Another observation is the presence of Tom Morello, I don't consider him as a metal icon, but I guess the explanation of his appearance is that he is the musical producer of the movie. Probably he also enjoys a good heavy metal.

Another ethical and moral discussion that the movie brings, occurs when Hunter is sent by his father to a type of rehab for teenagers because of his bad behavior. There he met Dr. Troy, a former metal player in a past school contest that hunter admires. Dr. Troy thinks that Hunter is there for being addicted to alcohol or another drug, but Hunter says that his only addiction is the music and his father sent him there because of that. Dr. Troy explains that his band was over because of drug problems that are common in rock'n roll bands. He also points out another kid that is there for his marijuana addiction. In the end, Kevin and Emily go there to release the kid from rehab in time for the school contest.

It is a cute movie as I stated in the title of this post because of that. Maybe people are trying to bring to a new generation that rock's roll is not a bad way of life anymore? Anyways the story is nice, the music is great it is worth watching the movie.

The story can be summarized as the dream of Hunter and the nerd and unpopular Kevin ( the actor Jaeden Martell, he played Bill in the It remake series) to form a metal band in their school. They have a guitar and drums in the band, so they start to look for a bass player. Kevin meets Emily, a foreign girl that has some psychological problems, and he starts to fall in love with her. She plays the cello. So there is another part of the movie that is great. I felt a little bit of an inclusion moral here. First: bringing the possibility to love people that aren't in the standards of society. Second: Replacing the bass for a cello in a rock band is possible.
Different from The Dirt, this movie ended well. Just the name the band had to change from Skull Fuckers to Skull Flowers . I guess another way to show that rock'n roll is changing.
I hope that you guys have time to watch it, here is the trailer of the movie an see you next time.

Hahaha, the beginning of the trailer of this movie starts with Cello Suite by Bach :D
Of course, the girl from the movie plays the cello.

Do you know what is curios? For some time already, I want to write a review of a movie I watched a few months ago, and today I decided maybe I will write it. The trailer of that movie uses the same music in the beginning!!! 😄 The same composition, Cello Suite, composed by Bach!

Anyway, nothing from my review, as I started to look around hive feed and I still didn't write anything 😂

Nice movie. I liked it but not as good as 'School of Rock'.

I found this movie by chance and thought it was reeeeally good. There were some things that I wanted to be portrayed different but still liked the final result. Aside of fangirling over music, i spent the whole movie debating over who of the leads was more attractive xD, and thought about why are they the "losers" like i wish my school had a metal band back then...

I loved the movie. The music and storyline attracted me to it, but then, it became all about people and their trials and successes; very good. Nice review 🤗❤️💕
