Myeongdong Korean Street Food Experience
The rise of Kpop and Kdramas all around the world also gave birth to the popularity of their food and culture- at least here in the Philippines. Soju and ramen are household favorites. Not to mention Samgyeopsal. So when we first heard of Myeongdong Korean Street Food here in Banilad, Cebu, my fellow foodie friends didn't hesitate to try their food.
We visited the restaurant during lunch time on a weekday. Thankfully, there were still seats available as we knew that they are usually fully booked on weekends and dinner time. This restaurant offers affordable Korean dishes like kimbap, fish cake, corndogs, ramen, Korean ice cream and drinks.
If you feel like eating snacks only, you can opt to stay in this area and choose foods mostly on sticks. Since we opt to eat a heavy meal, we headed to their main store and ordered our lunch.
They also have a section where you can cook your own ramen in just 2-5 minutes. Definitely a place to go for comfort foods!
For drinks and dessert, they have Korean brands of ice cream and iced tea.
With so many options at hand, I was confuse what to order. So i asked for the best sellers from their friendly staff. I had 1 order of kimbap, ramen, and a fish cake.
Verdict: This restaurant offers nothing special but it allows us, Filipinos, to experience common foods served in Korean restaurants and street foods. Hence, the name of the restaurant. The food also taste authentic since the owners and chef are Korean.
Overall, it was a great experience. This will now be my go to place for a quick ramen fix or eat ice cream on a bad or stressful day at work. I would also love to visit this place again with my colleagues.
That's it for today's blog. See you in my next one!
Sending some love and light
Love, Jane
