Make A Banh Mie With Lettuce in My Garden. Beyond Expectations, It Tastes Really Good!
Hello everyone,
It made me think of something about Vietnam, yes, of course Vietnam makes me miss it. There's a lot I miss, the vibes, the people and especially the food, I really like the food in Vietnam. Do you know why I like it so much? Because they always provide vegetables and strong flavors in every bite.
That's why, I like pho, banh mi, banh trang, everything about food. I think you will like Vietnamese food, like me, once you've been there. I remember yesterday's banh mi, bread stuffed with vegetables, eggs and floss, similar to a hot dog, and it looks like it's the same, but the difference is the bread of the banh mi and the hot dog.
I probably won't be able to make banh mi bread, the texture is very different from other breads. I can say it's like a little hard and a bit crispy from the outside, but the inside is very soft like sweet bread, but the taste is bland, I'm hard to describe it, but if you're curious, you can go straight to Vietnam to try it yourself.
This time, I became very diligent in making hot dogs, because their shape is similar to banh mi, so at least it can relieve my longing for that food. You know, no hot dog can replace the taste of banh mi, even though I buy banh mi that are halal, don't use pork, that's already delicious in my opinion, especially if it's a very authentic banh mi? It must be hard to explain.
This time I involved making hot dogs by making the bread too, because I think everything has to be made by hand. So, just like making the same buns as other sweet buns, I will write down the exact steps in making hot dogs, especially making long buns like banh mi.
Ingredients:
- 250 gr high protein wheat flour
- 125 m of water
- 30 gr sugar
- 7 grams of instant yeast
- 1 egg
- 50 gr butter
- 100 gr lettuce, 1 tomato and 1 onion
- Sausage and floss chicken
- Mayonnaise and chili sauce
- The oil for frying
How to make Hot Dogs or Banh Mi:
- Mix the wheat flour and instant yeast, you have to make sure that the instant yeast used is still very fresh and active, for fear of it failing to rise in the bread dough.
- After everything is mixed, add the other ingredients: eggs, sugar, pinch of salt, water and finally butter. Use a mixer or hands to knead until smooth and elastic. Please be patient because this requires quite a long time and extra energy to knead.
- Once the dough is smooth and elastic, leave it for 30-45 minutes, then take 40g and weigh it, then shape it lengthwise like a hot dog bun. Let stand again for 30 minutes.
- Bake for 25-35 minutes at 180 degrees Celsius. Once cooked then cool for 30 minutes.
- Prepare the hot dog filling, then I fry the sausages that will be used in just a little oil.
- Split the middle of the bread so you can add lettuce, onion, sausage, tomato, floss and add chili sauce and mayonnaise for a more delicious taste.
- Hot dogs or banh mi are ready to be served.
See you the next time hive friends!
