The previous contest was all about showing your tootsies. I know some of you have enjoyed it, some shy away and some bravely show off their beautiful body part. Every entry was perfect because you are perfect in your own special way. For this week's contest, we're taking things to the upper body and no... I'm not asking for boobies, I'm asking for you to photograph your hands!

The similar contest with a different body part this time and since we 'do' a lot of work with these two laborers, I'm sure we all can come up with something interesting. Tell a story about your pair to the world.

1. Your photo (which MUST be taken specifically for this contest)

2. Entry must not be less than 350 words cause who knows, you might get curie or ocd :)

3. Add a nice title to your entry. (Extra points for nice titles)

4. A brief explanation of the inspiration and/or creative thought behind the photo and also where in the world it was taken.

I took the first picture with the help of my son, making the shape of a heart; having the sunset in the background, my little daughter in the camera doing a strange pose, so that it will be the best done in terms of light and an interesting angle.

Understand something about JJ, a stray cat who came in from the wild adopting us, and his story as he was beginning to be accepted by our cats. Our cats (which we had five at the time JJ arrived) would get morning treats. I offered JJ a small bowl of food when I fed our other cats, thinking he would be hungry but to my surprise he was starved for affection more than food! He left the food and came for a pat. After that he became part of our family and was transformed from a cat use to living out in the wild, to a big cuddle cat! Let me show you what I mean...

How did the word “handy” originate, I wonder. When we say things like, “This is a handy thing to have,” or “It’s handy to have one of these around,” why didn’t we use the word “useful” instead? Useful probably existed before handy did, I’m guessing. And don’t forget “helpful.”

Our hands are useful. They’re also handy. But many other parts of our body are both useful and handy. I wonder if humans had pinchers instead of hands, would the word “handy” still exist? There doesn’t really seem to be a logical reasoning suggesting “handy” is derived from “hand.”

My children's hands are the best caress I've ever had in my life and they've given me a lot of happiness. Seeing their chubby fingers, their pink skin tone when they were babies and then when they grew up made me even happier when they first wrote Mom. Going down the street holding hands filled me with pride, it was a feeling I could not describe, definitely being a mom is being in love and there is no feeling like it.

When we come to life, we are given a body to inhabit on Earth, this should be considered and treated by us, as a sanctuary. However, we abuse it with our excesses and carelessness and do not give it the appreciation and place it deserves to have in our lives.

Our friend @zord189 invites us this week to show another part of our body that although it is cared for by many, it is not taken with the importance that they have, I am talking about the hands.

That's our cat named Yoda Who I love.

What are our hands for? I will never forget what one of our instructors told us during our University years, he always kept reiterating to us that "We are extension of God's healing hands". I am actually a Physical Therapist by profession, I finally got what he meant when I started handling my own patients. In my profession we are doing our best to heal people who have have illnesses. One thing that I love about my profession is whenever I see progress. It's the most fulfilling feeling.

These themes force us to observe and admire this very useful part of the body we use every day, without stopping. My hands are in constant activity, hence the title selected for this publication. I think I use them even when I'm asleep to support my dreams.

The hands with their five fingers each and their delicate bones, are very flexible and allow you to perform countless activities, compressing to clean a narrow container or stretching, when resting on a surface, with your fingers extended.

Last week it was all about our tootsies; and this week it's all about our hands.

Somehow, it just doesn't rhyme at all though it's part of our human body. How does one respond to such a statement: The world in our hands, is it really true; philosophically speaking it may be true decades ago but now, it's no longer a theory as we all have the world in our hands.

Today I share with you some pictures of my hands and also some words about them, making this post was to travel in time, remembering how my hands have been two great tools for me. It has been very moving to write about them, to observe them and to thank them for all the gifts they have given me.

That's why I thought of photographing my hands playing my guitar and also making a heart on it, then I decided to edit them and let my imagination fly by adding beautiful butterflies.

Our hands are a very special symbol in terms of our life, many situations depend on it, we can use it for good or for harm, the most convenient is to do things with love and try to bring a good message in the use of our hands. Since childhood we have experienced the sense of touch, taking many objects between them and exploring a different world is one of the most important sense because they depend on hard work and support of objects.

Once upon a time, in a German village, lived a family a little large. Gold mines and handicraft making were the only way of production to support their 18 small children

Despite the shortage in which they lived, two of them had a talent for drawing and painting and dreamed of studying to develop it much more. As they knew they could not count on family support, they decided that luck would decide who would go to study and who would work in the mines to pay for the studies. After finishing his studies and starting to sell his works of art, he would pay for the studies he stayed at home.
