Sometimes, or rather many times, we do not value the simple things in life, those that are free and available to everyone. Seeing at sunset is something relatively everyday, and we can find countless photos that prove it, but seeing the sunrise is something less common, but it can be just as beautiful and satisfying.

A veces, o mejor dicho muchas veces, no valoramos las cosas sencillas de la vida, esas que son gratis y están al alcance de todos. Ver al atardecer e algo relativamente cotidiano, y podemos encontrar infinidad de fotos que lo prueban, pero ver el amanecer es algo menos común, pero que puede ser igual de hermoso y satisfactorio.

But for this to be the case, we need to be in the right conditions to be able to enjoy it, which is not always available to everyone. I am fortunate to be an early riser by nature, since my body tends to wake up naturally as soon as the sun rises, without me trying to.

Pero para que esto sea así, necesitamos estar en las condiciones adecuadas para poder disfrutarlo, lo que no siempre está alcance de todos. Yo tengo la fortuna de ser una persona madrugadora por naturaleza, ya que mi cuerpo suele despertar de manera natural apenas sale el sol, sin yo proponérmelo.

In my case, being an early riser is a double-edged sword, because if I go to sleep very late, I still wake up early, and I don't get enough sleep. But when my activities allow me to sleep well, and I wake up naturally just before sunrise, watching it from bed is a pleasure I treasure.

Pero hay mucha gente a la que les muy difícil madrugar, y para quienes puede ser más difícil lograrlo. En mi caso, el ser madrugador es un arma de dos filos, ya que si me voy a dormir muy tarde, aún así despierto temprano, y no duermo lo suficiente. Pero cuando mis actividades me permiten dormir bien, y despierto de manera natural justo antes del amanecer, verlo desde la cama es un placer que atesoro.

In recent years my pace of work changed radically, and although my income decreased, little by little I realized that there were a significant amount of intangibles that I could now enjoy and balanced the situation. What is the use of making more money if it affects your health or does not leave you time to enjoy life? That was one of my conclusions, and from there I began to see life in a different way.

En años recientes mi ritmo de trabajo cambió radicalmente, y si bien mis ingresos disminuyeron, poco a poco me di cuenta de que había una importante cantidad de intangibles que ahora podía disfrutar y balanceaban la situación. ¿De que sirve ganar más dinero si eso afecta tu salud o no te deja tiempo para disfrutar la vida? Esa fue una de mis conclusiones, y a partir de ahí empecé a ver la vida de diferente manera.

And one of the things that changed is that I began to enjoy things that I could not enjoy before, such as sunrises, sunsets, free time, hobbies, travel, and more recently the huge and underrated pleasure of just doing nothing, a topic that we will talk about on another occasion.

To some it may seem that talking about enjoying the sunrise is an irrelevant topic, even I was one of those people during a stage of my life, but today, after a few days of not being able to do it due to work commitments, I was fortunate doing so, I found that there is no better way to start my day than to wake up and see the sun rise through my window and see that wonderful transition from night to the new day to live.
