Paying it forward, just to help.

Hi, friends,
Here we are this week with another prompt demanding for answers. "Pay it forward"

Rice.
Yes, giving or helping others on daily basis or some times when you can afford it helps us create value and self worth to ourselves. Anytime and any day. In life, we have to make ourselves become out lets of " rivers and not reservoirs". it's not always how much, but how effective and how prompt the gifting are that matters most. It's not very long time ago that i gave out some food stuffs to some one that came asking me to help her and family for feeding, and i did. This is a widow and her three children living in my neighborhood.

Sachet tomatoes.

She used to work as a staff of one of the local government councils in my city but has recently been retired from work. Her husband is dead since some years back, leaving her all alone to raise up their three kids. One faithful day early in the morning, she came knocking at my door. Opening my door, there she was. I was surprised, and asked her into the seating room, she sat down, We greeted, she said....... "Sister, i could not sleep properly over the night, i asked her why, are you sick?, she said no, i and the kids didn't eat, last night, please help me with some rice, to cook for i and the children."

I was terribly shocked, because i didn't expect she was that down. I replied.....don't worry, auntie,

Immediately i went to my kitchen store and dropped into a cellophane bag and packed like two paints of uncooked rice, which is the measurement we use here, some tomato sachets, onion, a bottle of vegetable oil, many maggi cubes, i packaged all these and gave to her. She began to jubilate and laughing loud, having a breath of relief. Showing a relaxed appearance just at the moment. Myself was also relieved and very happy that she herself is that happy. I just felt for her........ I went into my kitchen and presented before her and her daughter a plate of rice and stew. They ate, drank water thanked me a million times. Rested for some time, then i escorted them as they demanded to go home.

As they left, i began to ponder over the whole scenario , i was happy she was not shy to ask, but could open up to tell me exactly as it was with her.

This gift i gave to this widow and her children at this very time she doesn't know what to do, or where to go or even whom to ask for help might not be the biggest, most expensive gift in the world but my joy is that it has solved a dare need at that particular time. It also came at the needed time and has solved the expected purpose. That is the essence of giving.

It's very important for us to be empathetic about others. Giving to the needy at the right time solves lots of problems to them and inturn harness our personal worth and growth in life. This is an intentional giving to put smiles on someone else's face. It's also an intentional way of giving without expecting to receive rewards from those particular personalities you have given.

Onions.
This is how life goes, but after all, you will still get your rewards one way or the other. It's also a way of growing both yourself worth and building your capacity in life. Just go ahead and help someone, you can't eat all your resources in life. This kind of giving speaks volumes in the life of the receiver.

Thank you everyone for reading through my post, keep engaging with me as we do this together.

This is my answer to the weekly prompt #10.

"Pay it forward".... This is something that we see every day. Whether on social media, or in our home town, when folks are paying for the food order, for those behind them. Iam curious; in what ways do you strive to "pay it forward"? Share with us, how you attempted to create this thoughtfulness and positive energy this week.

All the pictures are mine, captured with my Tecno spark 8 phone camera.

I also believe that we get placed in a certain place of life to be able to help others. Well done ...

Yes, you are really correct. In life, our change of status and elevation is not only for us and our close family and friends to enjoy.

But majorly for the less privileged closer to us. How God will reward us back we may never know. Thank you for your time.

Helping others is a kind gesture, which should be part of our daily lives. It was very kind of you to help that widow and her children in a difficult time. Beautiful post. Greetings.
