Hello friends, welcome to another presentation on how to make home repairs using recycling materials.

Muy buenas amigos, bienvenido a otra presentación de como hacer reparaciones del hogar usando materiales de reciclaje.

In this part, I am reconstructing the bottom floor of a freezer that has been damaged, due to the saltpeter present in the land of San Juan de los Cayos, Falcón State, on the shores of the beach.

En esta parte, estoy reconstruyendo el piso fondo de un congelador que se ha dañado, debido al salitre presente en la tierra de San Juan de los Cayos, Estado Falcón, a orillas de la playa.

By the way, the local fishmonger, where most of the freezers are located, suffers from the effects of saltpeter, and since it is very expensive to repair. The locals turn to me to do this type of work, which by the way I like to do, since I bring positivity to my daily life. Since with creativity and recycling in action we can transform something old into something new and useful, that is truly inspiring.

Por cierto la pescadería local, donde se encuentran la mayor cantidad de los congeladores, sufre los efectos del salitre, y ya que es muy costoso de reparar. Los lugareños recurren a mí para realizar este tipo de trabajos, que por cierto me gusta ejercer, ya que le doy positividad a mi vida diaria. Ya que con la creatividad y el reciclaje en acción podemos transformar algo viejo en algo nuevo y útil, eso es verdaderamente inspirador.

I use rivets and cutting discs and recycle brass from damaged air conditioners, deposited in landfills. I cut them to the measurements I need to eliminate the areas where the saltpeter has done its thing. Then, I secure the floor with the recycled brass, use resin to seal the brass joints, sand it and, with a compressor, paint it, leaving it like new. Giving discarded materials a second life is a great way to reduce waste and create something valuable.

Utilizo remaches y discos de corte y reciclo latones de aires acondicionados dañados, depositados en vertederos. Los corto a las medidas que necesito para eliminar las zonas donde el salitre ha hecho de las suyas. Luego, aseguro el piso con los latones reciclados, utilizo resina para sellar las juntas del latón, lo lijo y, con un compresor, lo pinto, dejándolo como nuevo. Darle una segunda vida a materiales desechados es una forma excelente de reducir residuos y crear algo valioso.

With the help of my daughters, I entertain myself by doing these types of work and, in turn, I educate them on how to take advantage of things to make them useful in our daily lives. We share many ideas and, at the same time, I am aware of what my daughters do, having them with me. Thus, we have something in common to share, since I have awakened their interest in recovering, remodeling, modifying and creating things, demonstrating that everything is possible for human beings, regardless of their sex. We can all have amazing qualities.

Con la ayuda de mis hijas, me entretengo desempeñando estos tipos de trabajo y, a su vez, les educo sobre cómo sacarle provecho a las cosas para hacerlas útiles en nuestra vida cotidiana. Compartimos muchas ideas y, a su vez, estoy pendiente de lo que hacen mis hijas, teniéndolas conmigo. Así, tenemos algo en común para compartir, ya que les he despertado el interés en recuperar, remodelar, modificar y crear cosas, demostrando que todo es posible para el ser humano, sin importar su sexo. Todos podemos tener cualidades asombrosas.

This is the freezer compressor, as I told you before, the saltpeter does its thing tremendously, and in the motors, the tube outlets are made of iron and it eats them, generating leaks. I recover them, providing silver solder with bora. First, I clean the surface where the solder will be applied, thus removing any oxide residue, so that the solder adheres firmly to the surface and does not cause another future leak. After soldering, I place it on the evaporator cart, to later place it in the freezer, add gas and... that's it! We have a new freezer.

Este es el compresor del congelador, como les dije anteriormente, el salitre hace de las suyas tremendamente, y a los motores, las salidas de los tubos son de hierro y se los come, generando fugas. Yo los recupero, proporcionándole soldadura de plata con bora. Primero, limpio la superficie donde se aplicará la soldadura, eliminando así los residuos de óxido, para que la soldadura se adhiera con firmeza en la superficie y no ocasione otra fuga futura. Luego de soldado, lo ubico en el carrito del evaporador, para posteriormente colocarlo en el congelador, meterle gas y... ¡listo! Tenemos un congelador nuevo.
