Seeing off Lord Ganesha
A double rainbow was respecting his departure
Finally time came to see of the Lord and this year, we planned to go to a nearby Dam which is a little far but with a scenic road to drive.
This Puja was held at one friend's home and she invited a lot of friends from our society to join and accept prasad.
The evening was packed with all the ladies doing the sankirtana (enchanting slokas / bhajans) at her home and then later taking prasadam.
This kind of true socialism has a profounding impact on everyone joining the event, and it's good to see her taking the initiative always to make sure, they celebrate it in a grand way together. You won't have the same fun, when you do alone at home. She takes all the extra pain to make sure the arrangement is perfect and everyone is happy. For some, it may feel like a burden, but if you are a giver, then you know the pleasure of doing all this.
For the Lord's Immersion, we went in two cars, and this is the view of the bridge from the road.
Had to climb down a good number of steps to go to the bank.
And see what was waiting for Lord.
This is the very first time I saw double rainbows. Felt like the Lord was happy with all the rituals done this year and blessing us.
Interestingly, the cloud was clear, but as we approached towards the river bank, rain started. But everyone enjoyed and continued the procession, till they immersed the Lord.
The beauty of our culture is that, we treat God as if he is one of us, invited and honored with all rituals during his stay and farewell like us as well. Doing these rituals brings lot of positive energies to our life, and they are truly essential in the current digital situation.
I had the umbrella to save the camera, but still was half wet.
Fishermen were selling live fish, but since we won't eat on this occasion, we politely denied. They were very cheap compared to market, may be we will go some other day and get it.
The ambience was so scenic that it was feeling not to come back, and we would have spent some more time, if not wet.
She now wants to go again.
On our way back, we spent some time near the canal that was flowing all the way to the Dam, you can feel how this drive was.
She was very happy to enjoy the long drive and by the blessings of the Lord, everyone is doing fine, even though they were completely wet. When you believe, you feel the strength that the Lord gives us. Next year, we are planning to do it better, these small happiness are the true sparks of life, that helps us live it better.

It is a very nice meeting, what a beautiful encounter, their smiles denote the excellent time they had. Greetings from Venezuela.
How are you dear friend @sanjeevm good day
I'm glad you were able to attend this beautiful celebration, I love your traditions, because they always do it in society.
Seeing a rainbow is exciting, I imagine when you have the good fortune to see two
Beautiful photographs, I appreciate you sharing your traditions
Have a beautiful day
Great content! I used to have a Ganesh in my room, but not here, what I have in this room is a medicine Buddha & Amitabha.
Along with all our cats, that is! I read this while taking care of our special, 3 legged young male :-)
I do agree with so much here, also I take it as a sign that I come across your post right after getting into meditation again, also I just wrote a piece on Brave New World, so many syncronicities today...
Hopefully I'll make it to India too, but at least the plan is to get back to Nepal soon, then we will see!
In my place anytime rain falls in any celebration it means bountiful blessings from above and I believe you and your household is blessed by Lord Ganesha.
Rainbow actually signify a whole lot of beautiful things and which I did not always joke with actually
Hermosos arcoiris ...que bello país...
Indeed. There are three dimensions of our festivals and culture--
Spiritual(Inner journey, just imagine every year we do Ganesh puja, estabush the murti(physical shape) at home, and then give a send-off for "visarjan"(amurt)-- so it signifies a journey from "murt to amurt", means taking birth and again dissolving into the five elements of Nature. Put simply, it's story of life cycle...
Nature...every single festival is closely tied to Nature and at a particular season. Living close to nature is true sustainability, even our modern progress should commensurate "living close to the natural ecosystem".
Socialism- In some form or the other or through festivals, we develop connectedness as a social animal. So festivals are otherwise the mechanism to enforce socialism culturally.
Om Gan Ganapataye Namah.
As always, I marvel at your sharp shots. They are the USP of your blog on any given day.
Thank you.
🙏🙏🙏
The joy and fun of traveling together is different. The rainbow added a different dimension to this joy.
Beautiful weather on the day of immersion of Lord Ganesha. Double rainbow is very rare and the whole area has gone scenic. Cool-weather with the tranquility of this location and most importantly no crowd is something best of the day for this procession.
Jai Ganesha❤️❤️❤️
Beautiful pictures
Hmm
The Indian culture is actually surprising to me
This is a beautiful festival
Love it!

A double rainbow is incredible how both nature and their respective Gods bless them day by day. And as they say their culture is incredible
The truth is that their culture is incredible, in addition to receiving the blessings and all the positive energies, they have a less complicated life and with this they can enjoy much more without the stress that is generated day after day
